INSTALLATION
PIAA offers two types of H.I.D. bulbs, D2R and D2S. Make sure you have the correct
bulb type before installation. The front lens of your headlamp will have small molded
in markings that tell technicians many things about the headlamp. One of these things
is the type of bulb the headlamp is designed for. Therefore, if your headlamp has
a D2R marking, then only use D2R bulbs. If it says D2S, only use D2S bulbs. If you
cannot read the bulb type markings check your owners' manual, factory service
manual or contact a PIAA dealer for assistance.
The D2R bulb will have a black shade coating on part of the glass tube and the D2S
will have a clear glass tube. See illustrations below.

The installation illustrations, shown on opposite page, illustrate a typical H.I.D.
installation. For instructions on your specific vehicle read the owner's manual
or the factory service manual.
1. Turn off headlamps.
2. Turn off vehicle and set parking brake.
3. Disconnect the negative terminal on the battery.
4. Most headlamps will have a cover that seals the bulb inside the housing,
remove this cover.
5. To remove the connector, grasp it firmly and turn approximately 1/4 turn counter
clock-wise and pull connector off the back of the bulb.
6. Release the bulb retaining clip or spring and carefully remove the bulb.
DO NOT BUMP OR BANG THE GLASS TUBE, AN IMPACT ON
THE GLASS TUBE COULD CAUSE IT TO BURST.
7. Install the PIAA H.I.D. bulbs in the reverse of removing the original bulbs.
8. Check the bulbs for correct aim and operation before driving the vehicle.
Make adjustments as necessary.
