Network connections
Preparation of your PC/notebook
Open the Control Panel on your
PC/notebook and go to the
Network connections there. All
network adapters are listed here that
exist in your system.

Click with the right mousebutton on
the entry of your networkadaptor
and select from the context menu
the item „Properties".
Click on the entry „Internet
Protocol (TCP/IP)" and then on the
„Properties" button.
At „Use the following IP address",
issue an address from the address
range valid for private networks
(Class-C net: „192.168.0.0"
to „192.168.255.255") e.g.
„192.168.0.10".
„255.255. 255.0" has to be the entry
of „Subnet mask".
Confirm your entries with the „OK"
button.
This completes the configuration at
the PC/notebook end.

Direct connection between
ReelBox and PC/notebook by
cross-over cable (peer-to-peer)
Connect the PC/notebook and the
ReelBox with a crossover cable.
Open in the Setup menu
„2 Network", „1 Global options"
and then „1 Ethernet".
Enter an IP address from the
address range that is also used on
the notebook (e.g. 192.168.1.4).
Confirm your entries with „OK".
Check network connections
In Windows on your PC/notebook,
click on „Start" and then on „Run".
A window is displayed with a line in
which commands can be entered.
Enter the following command in this
line and then press the Enter key
(Return): „ping 192.168.1.4".
This command sends data packs from
your PC/notebook to the ReelBox.
If you receive a response from the
ReelBox, then your network has been
properly configured.
Network connection via switch/
router by network cable
Connect the PC/notebook and the
ReelBox with a network cable (patch
cable, CAT-5e).
Open in the Setup menu
„2 Network", „1 Global options".
Specify a name at „Hostname" by
which the ReelBox registers itself in
the network.
In case you have a network with
a domain controller, you can enter
the name of the domain used at
„Domain".
At „Gateway" and „Nameserver",
enter the respective IP addresses of
the gateway and name server used
in your network.
Open in the Setup menu
„2 Network", „1 Global options"
and then „1 Ethernet".
In case DHCP (automatic
assignment of the IP addresses
in the network by router) is used,
set „Yes" at „Use DHCP" and
confirm with „OK".
