UVC irradiation component
GB
for air sterilisation
Commissioning
For safe commissioning, observe the following points:
- The provided light traps must be used.
- The light traps may not be removed even during operation; otherwise:
• There is a danger of damage to eyes and skin.
• Plastics in the upstream and downstream sections will be damaged.
The following must also be observed for units with customer-provided control system:
- Operation of the UVC tubes may only be enabled by the control system if:
• The door contact switch (installed in the inspection door) is closed and
• The fan is in operation (to prevent heat build-up).
-
It is recommended that the operating hours be tracked by the customer control system (monitoring
of the time for replacing the UVC tubes)

Maintenance
The UVC irradiation component must be disconnected from the mains for maintenance and cleaning.
The UVC tubes must be checked for soiling at regular intervals and cleaned, if necessary. Soiling
significantly reduces the inactivation effect.
The UVC tubes decline in intensity over the course of operation and must be replaced after 9,000
operating hours. If they are not replaced, the inactivation effect will be reduced. Only the UVC tubes need
to be replaced! The sockets may continue to be used!
To remove the UVC tubes, first release them from the front holder and then take them out of the socket
on the base. During replacement of the UVC tubes, it is recommended to inspect the electrical lines for
damage.
Fabric gloves must be worn to insert the new UVC tubes!
The UVC tubes may not be pressed into the front holder and then pushed into the socket on the base.
The UVC tubes must first be inserted into the socket and then pressed into the front holder. Grip the glass
bulb with both hands near the holder and carefully press it into the holder.
