TROUBLESHOOTING
Coffee overflows from brew basket
Too much coffee was added. Recommended maximum amount is 82g of coffee.
Decaffeinated or finely ground coffee is more likely to cause overflow. Use slightly less
grounds when brewing these types of coffees.
Coffee grounds may have fallen between the paper filter and brew basket when coffee
was being added.
Paper filter not open fully or in the proper position. Always fold the paper filter at the
seams to ensure filter fits properly. Then, rinse brew basket before inserting paper filter.
This will make it easier for the edges of the paper filter to remain pressed against the
side of the basket.
Poor quality paper filter.
Longer than normal brew time
Too much water was added (10 cups max).
Coffee System needs cleaning.
Overflow protection may have been activated during brew. If a lot of coffee is added
and brew basket is about to overflow, the scale will detect this and the heater will turn
off to allow the basket to drain. Once the coffee has drained to a certain level, the
heater will turn back on and finish the brew. This may lengthen the brew time.
Coffee overflows from carafe
Too much water was added (10 cups max).
Carafe was not emptied since the last use.
