5. INSTRUCTIONS OF USE
1.
Lifting the load
Before lifting an assembly, check the vehicle is fully immobilised on a flat and horizontal surface (1). The hydraulic wheel lifter must be on a stable
surface void of greasy compounds. Close the valve (5) by turning it clockwise until it is locked (not too tight). Pump (6).
Continue this pumping operation until the position required is reached.
2.
Lowering the load
Turn slowly the valve (7) counter-clockwise and remove the hydraulic wheel lifter. The speed of this action is adjusted according to the rate the valve
is turned.
6. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
1. Roll the hydraulic wheel lifter into position and pump the lift foot pedal until adapter reaches desired height.
NOTE: Follow vehicle manufacturer's recommended procedures for removing the load as outlined in vehicle service manual or repair guide.
2. Carefully center load on adapter. Ensure the load's center of gravity is centered on the adapter and the setup is stable and secure.
NOTE: Before lowering load check to ensure all tools and personnel are clear and it is safe to lower the load.
3. Slowly and carefully turn the release valve counterclockwise (never more than half turn) to lower the load to its lowest possible position.
WARNING! Dangerous dynamic shock loads are created by quick opening and closing the release valve when the load is being lowered.
The resulting overload may cause hydraulic system failure which could cause property damage and/or severe personal injury.
4. If necessary, carefully and slowly move the hydraulic wheel lifter.
5. Transfer load immediately to appropriate support device for service or repair.
7. MAINTENANCE (§ 7.1.3 de l'EN 1494+A1)
Proper maintenance of the hydraulic wheel lifter will ensure its durability.
Service and repair hydraulic wheel lifter in compliance with the manufacturer's instructions.
Important: Entrust maintenance and repair of the hydraulic wheel lifter to skilled personnel, trained in hydraulic systems used in these
devices.
When the hydraulic wheel lifter is no longer used, maintain it in the lower position, with the valve closed. Keep the hydraulic wheel lifter and handles
clean.
Lubricate moving parts regularly.
Bleed the hydraulic system (§ INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USE)
- To check or top up the oil level, fully retract the piston, remove the filling plug and empty the oil into a container. Once the hydraulic wheel lifter is in
the horizontal position, fill the volume with appropriate oil matching the indications supplied for the model. The table of parts provided here indicates
the volume of oil necessary. Prevent foreign material from contaminating the new oil. After a period of heavy use, change the oil to extend the lifetime
of the hydraulic wheel lifter.
Important: Excess oil can make the hydraulic wheel lifter inoperative.
Only use hydraulic oil
- Check that the supply hoses are neither damaged, nor bent, nor worn. Do not install any load below them, or place them near sources of heat or
hit them. To ensure proper operation of the equipment or avoid any breakage, the hoses must be as straight as possible, without twists, bends or
sharp angles. Also ensure that the connection is made properly. Never disconnect a hose without depressurizing the system first.
- Use only original parts.
- Never modify an hydraulic wheel lifter.

Symptom
Hydraulic wheel lifter cannot lift load or pump feels
spongy.
Hydraulic wheel lifter lift load, but cannot hold.
Hydraulic wheel lifter can not lower completely.
Hydraulic wheel lifter cannot reach maximum
height.
- If the hydraulic wheel lifter is not used, fold the lifting arm completely to prevent any corrosion. If applicable, apply an anti-corrosion product to the
piston.
- Store the hydraulic wheel lifter in a dry and clean location, away from children.
- When the hydraulic wheel lifter is not being used, drain the oil and hand the latter to an approved agent, then dispose the hydraulic wheel lifter as
per local regulations.
- To order the repair kit, comprising hydraulic wheel lifter O-rings and pads, as well as all spare parts, please use the reference in the table.
