KiddyGuard is a safety barrier designed for children up to
24 months of age.
KiddyGuard can be fitted to door or stair openings with
apertures between 0-130 cm (0-51 inches).
Location
The KiddyGuard can be fitted either inside the opening/stair-
way (fig 3a) or on the wall besides the opening / stairway (fig
3b). WARNING the position of the safety barrier for stairs
depends on the position of the child in relation to the stair.
When fitting the KiddyGuard at the top of stairs, place the gate
at the top floor level, 15cm / 6 inches from the first step (fig 2).
When fitting the KiddyGuard at the bottom of stairs, place the
gate at the lowest stair (fig 2). Always make sure that the base
of the KiddyGuard is in contact with the floor. Before fixing
the KiddyGuard, decide whether it should open left to right or
vice versa, and therefore which side will be most suitable for
the handle. Place the KiddyGuard flat onto a hard surface and
press the handle (G) into its slot in the locking catch (L), as
shown in fig 4.
Attaching the gate
Pull out the gate, see "Operating" below, and attach the wall
fittings (B) and friction spacers (C) onto the barrier as shown
in fig1. Fix the KiddyGuard, in one of the directions shown in
fig 6, with the screws (E) provided. Use the rawl plugs (I) pro-
vided if mounting onto a concrete or brick wall. If mounting on
any other wall material, be sure to use an appropriate fixing
system. If there is a skirting board on the wall to which the
KiddyGuard is to be attached, a piece of wood, the thickness
of the skirting board will need to be positioned between the
KiddyGuard and the wall according to fig 7. Make sure that the
gate is mounted firmly and vertically. Attach the top cap (F)
according to the picture fig 8. If the gate is to be mounted on a
banister, use the banister fitting (H) provided, see fig 9.
Attaching the locking hooks.
Pull out the gate, see "Operating" below, place and hold one of
the hooks (D) in the upper hole in the locking catch (L), posi-
tion the hook on to the wall/frame, according to fig 10 and fig
11 so that the gate is properly stretched. Mark and, if needed
drill the holes, mount the hook on to the wall/frame with the
screws (E) and rawl plugs (I) provided. Repeat this procedure
for the lower hook, making sure that the gate is properly stret-
ched. If the hooks are being mounted on a banister, use the
banister fitting (H) and the oval fixing plates (J) provided, as
shown in fig 12.

Operating
The KiddyGuard is easily operated one-handed.
To close the KiddyGuard
Release the gate by 1. Pulling out the combination button
on the top of the gate. 2. Pushing down the inner button.
3. Pushing the combination button back to its original
position, while maintaining a downward pressure on the
button. (fig 5). The gate is then unlocked, and the button
can be released. Pull out the gate and hook locking catch
(L) onto the locking hooks (D). KiddyGuard automatically
locks closed.
AFTER CLOSING KIDDYGUARD, ALWAYS CHECK
THAT THE GATE IS LOCKED.
To open the KiddyGuard.
Release the gate by repeating the operations mentioned
under "To close the KiddyGuard". Unhook the gate and let
it roll up. Please note that the sound you hear is a warning
signal: to avoid the sound, simply keep the combination
button depressed while releasing the KiddyGuard.
Composition of the KiddyGuard.
The plastic parts are made of fibreglass-armed polyamide
(PA6), (POM), Polypropylene (PP) and Polyester. The
body of the KiddyGuard is made of steel and aluminium.
The materials are chosen for their strength and resistance.
All parts can be recycled. KiddyGuard material is flame-
proof.

Use household washing up liquid on a damp cloth
Safety instructions
The KiddyGuard should not be subject to mechanical
damage e.g. hitting it with sharp, hard objects or scrat-
ching from pets claws as this will cause damage.
When fitted in place, check the barrier to ensure that it
is properly fixed and secure.
The KiddyGuards general condition and safety mecha-
nism should be checked periodically.
Never use the KiddyGuard if any component is dama-
ged or missing
Do not allow adults, children or pets to climb over or
under the safety barrier, it may damage the gate and
cause injury.
Additional and replacement parts should only be obtai-
ned from the manufacturer or distributor.
This product complies with European Standard EN
1930:2000, which does not address products designed
for use across window openings.

KiddyGuard est une barrière de sécurité pour les
enfants jusqu'à l'âge de 24 mois.
KiddyGuard peut être installée sur une porte ou un
escalier, ouverture 0-130 cm.
Position
KiddyGuard peut être fixé, soit à l'intérieur d'une ouver-
ture de porte ou d'escalier (fig 3a), soit au mur à côté de
l'ouverture de porte ou d'escalier (fig 3b). ATTENTION sur
un escalier, placer la barrière KiddyGuard en fonction de la
position de l'enfant par rapport à l'escalier. En haut d'un
escalier, placer la barrière à 15cm du bord de la dernière
marche (fig 2). En bas d'un escalier, placer la barrière au
niveau de la première marche (fig 2). Vérifier que la base
de la barrière est en contact avec le sol. Avant de fixer
la KiddyGuard, choisir le sens d'ouverture (de gauche à
droite, ou de droite à gauche), qui détermine la position de
la poignée. Placer la KiddyGuard à plat sur une surface
dure et enfoncer la poignée (G) dans son logement sur la
barre de fermeture (L), voir fig 4. (Eviter de se tromper: la
poignée est difficile á retirer après.)
Installation de la barrière.
Dérouler la barrière (voir paragraphe "Fonctionnement")
pour pouvoir insérer les fixations mur (B) et les espaceurs
bloqueurs (C) en haut et en bas de la tige de la barrière
(voir fig 1). Fixer la KiddyGuard avec les vis (E) fournies,
dans l'une des directions montrées en fig 6: la barrière doit
pouvoir coulisser dans les gorges en haut et en bas de
l'enrouleur. Sur un mur béton ou brique, utiliser les che-
villes (I) fournies. Sur tout autre type de mur, utiliser des
chevilles adéquates. Si le mur a une plinthe, insérer un
morceau de bois de l'épaisseur de la plinthe entre la Kid-
dyGuard et le mur (voir fig 7). Vérifier que la barrière est
solidement fixée, et bien verticale. Poser le bouchon (F)
selon l'une des positions indiquées en fig 8 (il sert à remplir
l'espace entre le mur et la barrière). Si la barrière doit être
fixée à une rampe, utiliser la fixation rampe (H) fournie (voir
fig 9).
Fixation des crochets de fermeture.
Dérouler la barrière (voir paragraphe "Fonctionnement").
En tenant un des crochets (D) dans le trou supérieur de
la barre de fermeture (L), déterminer la position du crochet
sur le mur (ou la rampe) comme indiqué fig 10 et fig 11, de
façon à ce que la barrière soit tendue correctement. Si les
crochets doivent être fixés sur une rampe, utiliser la fixation
rampe (H) et les platines de fixation ovales (J) fournies (voir
fig 12).
Fonctionnement.
La barrière KiddyGuard se manipule facilement d'une main.
Pour fermer la barrière. Déverrouiller la barrière au moyen du
bouton d'ouverture, situé sur le haut de la barrière, en faisant
le mouvement suivant sans le lâcher: 1) tirer le bouton puis 2)
enfoncer le centre du bouton puis 3) tout en gardant enfoncé
le centre du bouton, repousser le bouton jusqu'à sa position de
départ (en résumé: tirer + enfoncer + repousser-en-enfonçant).
Voir illustration fig 5. La barrière est alors déverrouillée, et le
bouton peut être relâché. Tirer alors la barrière d'un seul mou-
vement pour la dérouler, et accrocher la barre de fermeture (L)
aux crochets (D). KiddyGuard se verrouille automatiquement.
Si la barrière se bloque par mégarde avant l'accroche, utiliser
le bouton pour la déverrouiller de nouveau.
TOUJOURS VÉRIFIER LE VERROUILLAGE APRÈS AVOIR
FERMÉ LA BARRIERE
Pour ouvrir la barrière KiddyGuard.
Déverrouiller la barrière en répétant le geste décrit au para-
graphe "Pour fermer la barrière". Puis décrocher la barrière,
qui s'enroule automatiquement. Noter que le bruit que l'on
entend sert de signal d'alarme: pour éviter le bruit, conserver
le bouton appuyé pendant l'ouverture.
Composition de la barrière KiddyGuard.
Les parties plastiques sont composées de polyamide armé
de fibre de verre (PA6), acetal (POM), polypropylène (PP) et
polyester. Le corps est fabriqué en acier et aluminium. Les
matériaux ont été choisis pour leur résistance aux chocs et
à l'usure. Tous les composants peuvent être recyclés. Les
matériaux de la KiddyGuard sont résistants au feu.
Nettoyage.
Utiliser du liquide vaisselle avec un chiffon humide.
Sécurité.
Veiller à ne pas endommager la barrière KiddyGuard avec
des objets durs et coupants ou les griffes d'animaux
domestiques
Après sa mise en place, et avant toute utilisation, vérifier
que la barrière est solidement fixée.
Vérifier régulièrement l'état général de la barrière Kiddy-
Guard et son mécanisme de sécurité.
Ne jamais utiliser la barrière KiddyGuard si des compo-
sants sont endommagés ou manquants.
Ne pas laisser adultes, enfants, ou animaux domestiques
passer par dessus ou par dessous la barrière, ce qui peut
l'endommager et causer des accidents.
N'utiliser que les pièces détachées obtenues auprès du
fabricant ou du distributeur agréé.
Ce produit est conforme à la Norme Européenne NF EN
1930:2000, qui ne couvre pas les produits destinés aux
fenêtres.
