CAUTION: WIRING MUST COMPLY WITH THE NATIONAL ELECTRICAL AND LOCAL CODES.
Installation location
1. This transformer is for use with landscape lighting systems only.
2. Do not connect two or more transformers in parallel.
3. Transformer should be mounted close to the power source.
Extension cords should not be used with this unit.
WARNING: For conduit connected power unit
RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK. Install transformer 5 feet (1.5 m) or
more from the pool or spa and 10 feet (3.05m) or more from a
fountain, connect transformer to a GFCI protected branch
circuit.
WARNING: for power supply cord connected power unit
RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK. Install transformer 5 feet (1.5m) or
more from the pool, spa, or fountain, connect power unit to a
receptacle protected by a GFCI.
Mounting
1. The bottom plate of the transformer features double knock-outs
for adapting to standard conduit sizes, as well as a 1-5/8"
diameter access hole to allow for a larger centrally located 1/-1/2"
diameter conduit for a cleaner, more professional looking installation.
2. Mount the transformer to a solid surface using keyhole slots in
the mounting bracket. (Note: the transformer must be mounted
at least 1 foot above ground level, with the wire terminals facing down).
3. Secure the transformer using the appropriate wall anchors for
the wall surface used. (Mounting screws and anchors are not provided).
4.
For any unused conduit knockouts or openings, it is recommended
to apply a thin layer of silicone gel.
Wiring the Transformer
1.
Open the front hinged door of the power console and remove
the two screws in the lower panel to access the terminal blocks.
2.
The transformer is listed for outdoor use and equipped with
multi-tap terminals.
3. 12/2 cable is the heavy black cable to which all 12 volt low voltage
lighting fixtures will be connected. Split 12/2 cable approximately
3 inches, and strip 1/2 inch insulation off each wire.
4.
Insert one bare wire into the terminal board marked COM and
tighten screw. Insert the other bare wire to the appropriate
voltage (12V, 13V, 14V, or 15V) and tighten screw. NOTE:
Do not energize transformer until installation is complete.
