The mains supply unit is a special switching power supply unit that can replace the rechargeable battery
on an electric tool where a mains supply is available. This is a low voltage source and together with its
parameters corresponds to the 12V rechargeable battery. The mains supply unit was designed for
powering an electric tool employed in intermittent operation and a capacity of up to 400W and displays
its current status by means of an LED indicator.
Short-circuit protection
The protection system is triggered in the event that
the device is exposed to a load of more than 65A
(short circuit). The electric circuit is interrupted and
completed again after approx. 8 seconds. In case
of a sustained short circuit the cycle (test) is
repeated 3 times and thereupon the device
disconnected from the mains. In this case, the
mains cable must be removed from the socket for
approx. 1 minute in order to continue working.
Rating protection
The device is shut down in case exposure to more
than 25A continues for longer than 10 seconds.
The device is switched on again after 10 seconds.
Temperature protection
NTC thermistors serve as temperature probes. They
protect the transistors and rectifier diodes against
any excessive temperature. The device is shut
down if the temperature of these components
reaches 100°C. The device is ready for service
again after 20 – 120 seconds.
LED explanation
1. The device is ready for operation if the red LED
is continuously illuminated.
2. A flashing LED indicates that the device has
been switched off. There can be 4 reasons for
this:
There has been an excessive rise in
temperature (temperature protection)
The device rating limit has been exceeded
(rating protection).

Components of the unit are recyclable material
and should be put to recycling.
For this purpose registered and certified recycling
companies are available. For an environmental-
friendly disposal of the non-recyclable parts (e.g.
electronic waste) please contact your local waste
disposal authority.
For EU countries only:
equipment and its implementation as national law,
electric tools that are no longer serviceable must be
collected separately and utilised for
environmentally compatible recycling.
Used removable batteries must not be thrown in
fire or in the household rubbish.
