Drawbar must be used in the
RISE position only.
1.
Remove bottom appearance panel - Using panel removal tool, remove (7) plastic rivets from bottom appearance panel. Using 10 mm socket, remove (1) screw from front end of
panel on driver side. Using 10 & 12 mm socket, loosen (5) plastic flange nuts underneath trunk pan. Remove bottom appearance panel.

Lower exhaust muffler - Using exhaust removal pliers, remove rubber hangers at (3 ) locations. Be sure to support exhaust before removing rubber hangers.

Remove/trim heat shield - Using 10 mm socket, remove (2) flange nuts from heat shield. Trim the heat shield as shown in Figure 2.

Enlarge access/attachment holes - Remove rubber plugs from access holes and passenger side forward attachment hole on the frame, see Figure 1. Using a die grinder with cutting
bit, enlarge the access holes to fit the head of carriage bolt ①, both sides, see Figure 1. Using a 1/2'' drill, enlarge forward attachment hole on driver's side, see Figure 1.

Install hitch – (a) Using 12 mm socket, remove (2) factory M8 bolts from driver side frame rails. Return to vehicle owner.
(b) Using 17 mm socket, remove (2) factory M12 bolts from tow hook on passenger side. Keep bolts and tow hook for reinstallation.
(c) Using utility knife, remove caulk from bottom of frame near rear mounting holes both sides, see Figure 3. NOTE: If seam is exposed, reseal with thin layer of sealant.
(d) Reinstall the heat shield. Raise the hitch into position and loosely install (2) M8 bolts ⑥ into existing weldnuts on driver side. Using (2) factory M12 bolts, install the tow hook on
top of hitch, see Figure 1. Using the hitch as a template, drill a 1/2'' hole through heat shield/frame on passenger's side forward attachment.
(e) Using pull wire ⑤, install the carriage bolt ① and spacer ② into frame rails to bracket holes, both sides, see Figure 1 & 4. Remove pull wires and loosely install conical washer
③, and hex nut ④ onto carriage bolt, both sides.
6.
Tighten all M8 fasteners with torque wrench to 25 Lb.-Ft. (34 N*M), M12 fasteners to 76 Lb.-Ft. (103 N*M), and 7/16 fasteners to 50 Lb.-Ft. (68 N*M).
7.
Trim bottom appearance panel - Trim the bottom appearance panel as shown in Figure 5.
8.
Reinstall all fasteners, exhaust muffler, and bottom appearance panel removed in Step 1, 2.
Note: check hitch frequently, making sure all fasteners and ball are properly tightened. If hitch is removed, plug all holes in trunk pan or other body panels to prevent entry of water and exhaust fumes. A hitch or ball which has been damaged
should be removed and replaced. Observe safety precautions when working beneath a vehicle and wear eye protection. Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch. This product complies with safety specifications and requirements for
connecting devices and towing systems of the state of New York, V.E.S.C. Regulation V-5 and SAE J684.
