1. Temporarily Remove Existing Bolts – On each side, remove (1) M14 Bolt from the bottom of the bumper bracket.
2. Install the Hitch – Raise the Hitch into position by aligning the holes in the hitch with the holes in the frame.
3. Install the Fasteners – Reinstall the (2) existing M14 bolts through the hitch and into the existing weldnuts in the frame. Insert (1) 1/2"-13 carriage bolt and (1) spacer through each one of the remaining
(6) holes. Install (1) 1/2" conical washer, (1) 1/2" lock washer, and (1) 1/2"-13 nut on each of the carriage bolts. Hand tighten all nuts.
4. Tighten all 1/2" – 13 fasteners with torque wrench to 75 ft-lbs (102 N-m) & tighten all M14 fasteners with torque wrench to 85 ft-lbs (115 N-m).
Proper torque is needed to keep the hitch secure to the vehicle when towing.
Note: check hitch frequently, making sure all fasteners and ball are properly tightened. If hitch is removed, plug all holes in trunk pan or other body panels to prevent entry of water and exhaust fumes. A hitch or
ball which has been damaged should be removed and replaced. Observe safety precautions when working beneath a vehicle and wear eye protection. Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch.
