The responsibility of the authorised personnel must be defined. This enables him to refuse
instructions from third parties that are in breach of the safety regulations.
Personnel to be instructed, trained or in the framework of general training may only operate the
machine under the continuous supervision of an experienced person.
Unauthorised third parties must not be present within the operating area of the machine.
2.2.2
Safety-relevant environmental conditions
Care must be taken to ensure that the floor around the machine is kept dry, in order to minimise the
risk of slipping.
2.2.3
Safety-relevant notes for particular life-cycle phases
Operation

The floor must always be clean, dry and grease-free.

No objects (e.g. tools) must be placed in or on the machine.

No work method should be used which impairs the operating safety of the machine.

Measures must be taken to ensure that the machine is only operated in a safe and functional
condition.

Only operate the machine if all the safety devices and safety-related devices, e.g. detachable
safety features, EMERGENCY STOP equipment, sound protection, etc. are present.

Check the machine for external damage and faults at least once per shift.

In the event of a malfunction or unusual event, immediately shut down the machine. Inform the
superior responsible and remedy the malfunction immediately.

Never manipulate, disable, bypass or remove safety devices.

Keep all safety and warning notices on the machine in a complete and legible state.

Only operate the machine when all safety features are functioning.

Observe the switching on/off procedures and system start-up indicators according to the
operating manual.

Before taking the machine into service, ensure that the machine does not pose a risk to anyone.
