The BURNDY
MRE10-22B and MRE10-22NV crimping tools incorporate a full-cycle ratchet mechanism
®
that once started, does not allow the handles to be opened until the crimp cycle is completed. This
provides a complete, positive crimp every time. If needed, the user can activate the emergency release
lever (See Figure 3).
Additionally, the BURNDY
force, high-output crimp. These tools also feature comfort grip handles to further reduce user fatigue.
Insulated and Uninsulated Terminals and Splices*:
1. Fully open tool handles.
2. Place connector into correct die nest.
3. Rotate the stop plate into position*. Place connector
so that the barrel is flush with the stop plate.
4. Partially close the tool until the connector is held in
place.
5. Insert wire into connector until it is flush with the
stop plate.
6. Close handles until the ratchet mechanism releases.
7. If the connector is a splice, repeat process on other
side of splice.
* The stop plate is not used for crimping splices. Swing stop plate away when a splice is to be crimped.
