The insulating helmet ALPINWORKER PRO Unvented is classifi ed as class "0" withstanding a nominal voltage up to 1000V AC
and 1500V DC.
The helmet insulation cannot solely guarantee electrical safety to its user alone. The user will need to pair them with other
protective insulating devices, with the risk associated to the work nature.
FITTING AND ADJUSMENT
For adequate protection this helmet must fi t or be adjusted to the size of the user's head. The helmet must be worn with the
peak facing forward. To alter the size, adjust the harness on the back of the helmet using the wheel ratchet system located at
the back of the headband. To change the wearing height, just change on the harness. Please change every holder (4 holders) to
make sure a comfortable fi t is made around the crown of the head.
USE
The helmet is constructed in such a way that the energy produced by an impact is absorbed by the destruction or partial deteri-
oration of the cap and the strap; even if this type of deterioration is not immediately apparent, we recommend that you replace
any helmet that has been subjected to impact.
We would also like to bring the user's attention to the danger that could be caused if any of the original components were to
be modifi ed or eliminated, except for modifi cations or removals recommended by the manufacturer of the helmet. The helmets
must not in any case be adapted for the attachment of accessories using a procedure not recommended by the helmet's
manufacturer.
LEVEL OF PROTECTION & LIMITATION OF USE
The industrial safety helmet is intended to provide a reasonable protection to the wearer primarily due to falling objects and
consequential head injury and skull fracture.
The industrial safety helmet is designed for forward wearing (peak on the front) and to be worn without any additional apparel
(e.g. cap, beanie, etc.).
The helmet is tested to transfer force not more than 5 kN resulting from the drop of blunt objects weighing not more than 5 kg
from a height of 1 m and below at the center of the crown area of the industrial safety helmet.
The industrial safety helmet is tested to resist penetration and contact to the head from the drop of sharp objects weighing not
more than 3 kg from a height of 1 m and below within the 50 mm radius from the center of the crown of the helmet shell.
The shell does not support combustion with an exposure of not more than 10 seconds as per EN 397-2012. There shell shall not
burn with the emission of fl ame after a period of 5 seconds.
The helmet is tested to pass lateral deformation. During this test, the helmet is placed between two steel plates and subjected to
lateral compressive force of up to 430N. The requirement is that the maximum lateral deformation is <40mm and the remaining
deformation <15mm.
The industrial safety helmet is intended to provide protection to the wearer on short term, accidental contact with live electrical
conductors at voltage up to 440V a.c. as per EN397-2012.
The industrial safety helmet is tested to provide protection from accidental contact of molten iron, which can help resist serious
injuries and fatal burns.
Under the EN 50365-2002 standard, the industrial safety helmet is intended to provide protection to the wearer against electrical
shocks by insulating the passage of dangerous current through the body via the head.
ACCESSORIES, SPARE PARTS AND INSTRUCTIONS FOR FITTING
Insert the web suspension into the helmet by inserting the plastic tabs into the slots provided in the helmet for this purpose. The
sweatband should be positioned at the front of the helmet.
Please change the entire safety helmet if any parts of the helmet shell are cracked, damaged or brittle. Do not replace the
damaged part by yourself, please replace the entire helmet.
DEADLINE OF OBSOLESCENCE
The date of manufacture is moulded under the peak of the helmet. The lifespan of this helmet depends on:
1) Shell life = 5 years, when stored in cool, dry condition and out of direct sunlight.
2) Services life = It is recommended this helmet be discarded after 2 years. In extreme circumstances it may be necessary to
discard after 1 year.
Note: The helmet should be regularly examined and discarded immediately if any deep scratches, abrasions or crack appear.
THIS HELMET IS NOT UNBREAKABLE OR INDESTRUCTIBLE. IT OFFERS CONSIDERABLE RESISTANCE TO IMPACT
BUT DOES NOT OFFER UNLIMITED PROTECTION AGAINST THIS RISK
The declaration of conformity is available on the www.cerva.com/conformity.htm.
