Hex Bolt – ½-13 x 4.500 GR5

Lower spare tire.
2.
Trim rigid foam fascia support on both forward and rearward sides of vehicle impact bar as shown in Figure 2 (approximately 10-
1/4" wide and 1-1/8" above top of vehicle impact bar) to allow hitch brackets to fit flat against impact bar.
3.
Raise hitch into position, centering hitch on vehicle. Mark foam fascia support at bolt holes in hitch.
4.
Take hitch down and, using ½" drill bit or keyhole saw, cut foam to allow ½" bolts to pass over top of impact bar.
5.
Raise hitch back into position and secure with ½" x 4.5" hex bolts and lock washers into ½" nuts on rearward hitch bracket.
6.
Tighten all ½-13 GR5 fasteners with torque wrench to 75 Lb.-Ft. (102 N*M)
7.
Raise spare tire back into position.
Note: check hitch frequently, making sure all fasteners and ball are properly tightened. If hitch is removed, plug all holes in trunk pan or other body panels to prevent
entry of water and exhaust fumes. A hitch or ball which has been damaged should be removed and replaced. Observe safety precautions when working beneath a vehicle
and wear eye protection. Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch.
