1. Clean the housing with a soft, damp cloth; next, wipe it dry. Use a bit of a gentle detergent to
remove persistent grime.
2. Periodically clean the safety filter (7) and the water evaporation filter (6). To remove the filters,
remove two screws which retain the filter frame at the back of the appliance and remove the
latter from the air cooler. First, clean the safety filter on the outside with a soft brush. Next,
immerse the filter frame in lukewarm water (at or below 45°C) with some detergent and thor-
oughly wash both filters. Thoroughly rinse with clean running water and leave to dry. Install
the filter frame back in the air cooler and tighten the screws in place. The filters will require
cleaning several times a week if you use the air cooler most of the day, every day.
CAUTION! Do not remove the water evaporation filter from the frame. Risk of damage to the water evaporation
filter!
3. Remove to half the water tank from the air cooler before cleaning. Wash the water tank on
the inside with its water pump with lukewarm water and some detergent. Use a soft cloth
or sponge. Do this gently as not to damage the water pump integrated with the water tank.
Thoroughly rinse the water tank with clean running water and open the drain plug to empty
the tank. Clean the water tank at least once a month.
4. The water tank may require descaling, depending on the tap water hardness in your area.
Descale with commercially available descalers for air cooling equipment. Always thoroughly
rinse the water tank clean after descaling.
CAUTION! Do not plug in the air cooler to the mains or turn it on while descaling.
5. Wind the power cord around the hooks (11) when not in use.
6. Wash the ICE BOXES on the outside every time before refrigerating
or freezing. Do not open the Ice Boxes. Do not change the water in
the Ice Boxes after filling them for the first time.
7. The remote control requires a CR2025 3-volt bat- tery to work. The
battery is accessed by pressing the lock tab (Fig. 1, arrow A) and sli-
ding the bat- tery holder out (Fig. 1, arrow B). Mind the correct pola-
rity when installing the battery.
CAUTION! The CR2025 is not included with MKL-03.
CAUTION! Do not dispose of spent batteries with household waste. Dispose of
spent batteries at designated battery collection points or return them to the
seller. Never throw batteries into fire.
