Replace the Printhead

CAUTION!
The printhead can be damaged by static electricity discharges and impacts!

Ground your body, e.g. by wearing a grounded wristband.

Do not touch the contacts on the plug connections.

Do not touch the printing line with hard objects or your hands.

Remove the printhead
•
Remove labels and transfer ribbon from the printing system.
•
When the printhead is closed, loosen the fixing screw (E).
•
Turn the lever (B) counter clockwise to lift up the printhead
(C).
•
If the printhead (C) is not disengaged on the pressure roller,
continue loosen the fixing screw (E).
•
Remove the printhead carefully to the front until you can
reach the plug connections.
•
Remove the plug connections and then remove the printhead
(C).
Install the printhead

•
Attacht plug connections.

•
Position the printhead (C) in the printhead mounting bracket
in such a way that the pins are secured in the corresponding
C
holes in the head plate.
•
Lightly keep the printhead mounting bracket on the printer
roller with one finger and check for correct positioning of the
printhead.
•
Screw in the fixing screw (E) and tighten it.
•
In order to move the printhead (C) down, turn the red
pressure lever (B) in clockwise direction until it locks.
•
Reload labels and transfer ribbon.
•
Check the resistance value on the type plate of printhead
and if necessary change the value in the menu Service
functions/Heater resistance.
Remove the printhead
•
Remove labels and transfer ribbon from the printing system.
•
When the printhead is closed, loosen the knurled screw (C).
•
Turn the lever (A) counter clockwise to lift up the printhead (B).
•
If the printhead (B) is not disengaged on the pressure roller,
continue loosen the knurled screws (C).
•
Remove the printhead carefully to the front until you can reach
the plug connections.
•
Remove the plug connections and then remove the printhead
(B).
Install the printhead
•
Attach the plug connections.
•
Position the printhead (B) in the printhead mounting bracket in
A
such a way that the pins are secured in the corresponding
B holes in the intermediate layer.
•
Lightly keep the printhead mounting bracket on the printer
roller with one finger and check for correct positioning of the
printhead.
•
Screw in the knurled screw (C) and tighten it.
•
In order to move the printhead (C) down, turn the red pressure
lever (A) in clockwise direction until it locks.
•
Reload labels and transfer ribbon.
•
Check the resistance value on the type plate of printhead and
if necessary change the value in the menu Service
functions/Heater resistance.
