Putting the FRÄSMASTER 18V into operation
Work environment and safety
- Check that the guard housing is in perfect working condition prior to each use. Do not use
the grooving machine if the cutter blade fails to retract automatically behind the guard
hood when you release the pressure on the handle. Never bypass the safety mechanism. If
the grooving machine ever falls onto the floor, check the function of the guard housing.
- Check the condition and function of the guard housing springs. If the guard housing and
springs are not in perfect working condition, have the grooving machine serviced prior to
use. Damaged parts, tacky deposits, or chip buildup will make the guard housing sluggish.
- Do not place the grooving machine on the workbench or floor unless the guard housing is
covering the cutter blade. If the cutter blade is allowed to coast unprotected, the grooving
machine will move in the opposite direction to cut and slice through anything in its way. Be aware
of the cutter blade coasting time.
- Hold the power tool by the insulated gripping surface whenever there is a risk of the insert
accessory coming into contact with hidden power cables or with the connection cable of
the unit itself. Contact with a live cable will result in a voltage being applied to the metal parts of
the power tool and lead to an electric shock.
- The unit must be monitored continuously during operation. Objects can get caught in the
cutter blade and then propelled away from it.
- Keep children and bystanders away while operating a power tool. Distractions can cause
you to lose control.
- The FRÄSMASTER 18V has been designed for an ambient temperature of -10 to 50°C. The unit
is only to be operated within this ambient temperature range.
