•
A lways attach snap hooks to positioning D-rings on both
sides of the belt or harness with keepers facing outward.
•
N ever work without independent fall arrest protection if there is danger
of a fall. Use of a Secondary Adjustable Positioning Lanyard (APL)
is highly recommended when climbing past obstacles.
•
W hen using a Secondary APL with the (WPFRD), refer to separate
instructions and warnings for proper use.
•
N ever attach multiple snap hooks onto a single D-ring while
actively climbing.
•
N ever allow WPFRD outer strap or inner strap to become
twisted before engaging D-ring.
WARNINGS
•
N ever attach multiple WPFRD's together.
•
A ssume the responsibility for determining that
your WPFRD is in good condition at all times.
•
N ever allow WPFRD straps to come in contact with edged
or pointed tools, sharp edges , abrasive surfaces, welding;
or near a radiator, steam pipe, stove, heater, engine exhaust pipe,
or other heat source.
•
N ever use a Fall Restrict Equipment (FRE) straps which have
worn to the point of showing the red-colored interior plies.
WARNINGS
•
F or human support only, NOT for towing or
hoisting material.
•
N ever disable locking keeper on hook, punch holes
in or alter WPFRD in any way.
•
U se only with belt or harness with positioning D-rings
meeting ASTM F887 standards for intended use.
•
K lein strongly recommends that Klein components NOT
be interchanged with other components made by other
manufacturers, because Klein cannot guarantee that other
manufacturers' components are free of defects in materials
or workmanship.
WARNINGS
•
B efore each use check that: 1) unit is free of burns, cuts,
abrasions, kinks, knots, broken strands and excessive wear,
2) hooks, carabineer, buckle, D-rings are not distorted or cracked,
3) hook keepers are free of burrs, functioning properly, clean,
and not bent, 4) WPFRD outer and inner straps have not worn
to the point of showing the red-colored interior plies, 5) Remove
from service, destroy and discard unit if it does not pass this
inspection and replace immediately. 6) ANY UNIT WHICH HAS
SEEN FALL ARREST SERVICE SHOULD NOT BE USED AFTER
SUCH SERVICE.

Never attempt to repair or modify any part or component of WPFRD.

purpose for which it is designed and intended.

A ssume the responsibility when using the Fall Restrict Equipment
(FRE) around moving machinery and electrical hazards.
•
Misuse of the Fall Restrict Equipment (FRE) could result in injury or death.
•
C onnecting devices must be destroyed if subjected to impact loading.
•
A lways visually check that: 1) each snap hook freely engages
D-ring or anchorage, 2) keeper is completely closed with each use.
Never rely solely on the feel or sound of a snap hook engaging.
•
M ake sure each hook is positioned so that its keeper is
never load bearing.
WARNINGS
•
N ever join two snap hooks together. They are NOT

intended to be used that way, and could twist apart.
•
E mployer — instruct employee as to proper use
and warnings before use of equipment.
•
R ead, understand and follow all instructions and
cautions attached to and/or packed with this and all
occupational protective equipment before each use.
