The connection across the IDSL line may be 128 kbps or 144 kbps bandwidth. Speed is hardware- or software-selectable per port (software overrides hardware settings) and is determined by the IDSL 12-Port Access Mux Module. The remote subscriber unit will determine its line speed through communication with the Module.

IDSL 12-PORT ACCESS MUX MODULE The first switch for each port (the odd-numbered switches) are not used. The second switch for each port (the even-numbered switches) sets the default speed setting for the unit upon initialization. If the second switch is in the OFF position, the line will run at 128 kbps.

IDSL 12-PORT ACCESS MUX MODULE LED Indicators Each IDSL port features the following status LEDs for at-a-glance monitoring: • PWR: Steady green indicates normal operation. • LK: Pulsing green (once per second) indicates IDSL connection is operational and the unit is receiving either valid data packets or status packets from the remote unit on the other side of the IDSL connection.
