7. Insert ignition leads into hole in backpack frame, and attach
new Hip Throttle Arm and old Harness Fixture to frame,
reusing harness fixture and (2) self-tapping screws (F)
removed earlier.
8. Place throttle cable between fan case and fuel tank, and
connect throttle wire to carburetor. Adjust throttle cable
position: Set length "G" to 5 – 6 mm (0.2 – 0.24 in.) and
secure using adjustment nuts (B).
9. Using Throttle Position Lever on Arm, check carburetor swivel
plate for full range of motion from IDLE to WOT and adjust as
needed.
10. Connect primary lead coupler (C). Make sure plastic insulat-
ing sleeve fully covers metal connectors.
11. Connect ground lead terminal (D) to engine.
12. Connect spark plug wire to spark plug.
13. Start unit using start procedure in manual. Move lever back to
Idle position after engine starts.
14. Move Throttle Position Lever to STOP position. Unit must stop
immediately.
15. Check Throttle Arm for full range of Up – Down movement.
Throttle Arm must move freely and hold position when re-
leased. If required, adjust tension on compression spring and
recheck arm.
