1. Lower Exhaust– Lower exhaust using 15mm socket to remove (2) bolts attaching the exhaust bracket to rear of vehicle, one each side.
Note: Support exhaust to avoid damage.
2. Lower and trim heat shields– Use needle nose pliers to loosen (4) speed nuts on driver side and (2) speed nuts on the passenger side. Trim heat
shield using tin snips as shown in Figure 2. Note: Dimensions are approximate, confirm fit prior to trimming.
3. Fishwire fasteners – Fishwire (2) carriage bolts and (2) HE-2370-000 spacers through the access hole in each frame rail as shown in Figure 3.
Reinstall the trimmed heat shields.
4. Remove fascia screws – Remove (2) screws using 7mm socket attaching lower rear fascia to vehicle. Note: Trimming ¼" from the vehicle forward
edge of fascia tabs may ease installation.
5. Install hitch – Raise the hitch into position (Note: Working the hitch up and around the exhaust and exhaust brackets) and attach with (2) 7/16"
conical washers (teeth side toward hitch) and (2) 7/16" nuts, finger tight. Reinstall exhaust hanger bracket on hitch bracket using (2) supplied
M10 x 60mm bolts and (1) 1541 spacer as shown in Figure 1. both sides.
6. Torque fasteners – Tighten all 7/16" fasteners to 50 ft-lbs. and all M10 fasteners to 42 ft-lbs. Reinstall lower fascia screws.
Proper torque is needed to keep the hitch secure to the vehicle when towing.
Note: check hitch frequently, making sure all fasteners and ball are properly tightened. If hitch is removed, plug all holes in trunk pan or other body panels to prevent entry of water and exhaust fumes. A hitch or ball which has been
damaged should be removed and replaced. Observe safety precautions when working beneath a vehicle and wear eye protection. Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch. This product complies with safety specifications and
requirements for connecting devices and towing systems of the state of New York, V.E.S.C. Regulation V-5 and SAE J684.
