This appliance must be decalcified periodically. Over time, mineral deposits
build up on internal parts and affect the operation of the appliance. The
frequency of decalcification depends on the hardness of your water and how
often you use the appliance. Indications that decalcifying is necessary are:

We recommend the use of vinegar for decalcifying.
1.
Open the water reservoir lid. Pour 1 quart of fresh, cool, undiluted white
household vinegar into the water reservoir.
2.
Put the pitcher in place on the drip tray. Set the steeping control to strong.
3.
Remove the filter and set aside. Keep the brew basket and sweetener chamber
in position in the appliance.
4.
Close the water reservoir lid.
5.
Plug in the Iced Tea Maker and press the power button until the "ON" indicator
light is illuminated. After about 1 cup of vinegar has pumped into the pitcher,
unplug the Iced Tea Maker. Let stand for 30 minutes.
6.
Plug in the Iced Tea Maker again; it will resume pumping out the remaining
vinegar.
7.
When the Iced Tea Maker shuts off, unplug it.
8.
Remove the pitcher and empty out the vinegar.
9.
Repeat the process using clear, cool water in place of vinegar to rinse any
remaining traces of the vinegar from the system. Rinse twice using clean, cool
water each time.
