A convenient and easy to use rechargeable soldering iron, containing
nickel-cadmium batteries, ideal for remote service operations and
laboratory use. Separation from mains supplies eliminates voltage
spikes or surges and the absence of an earth allows use on isolated or
floating components.

Double light source greatly improves illumination of soldering area
(either lamp may be removed if only a single light source is
required).
The iron is supplied with a fitted standard size tip (incorporating the
element), a cleaning sponge, a spare lamp and a screwdriver to permit
tip removal.
Do not clean the plated tip with a file - use a wetted sponge.
CAUTION: To prevent fire hazard, please turn the lock button to
0
after use.
Recharging
A separate charging unit is available. RS stock number 337-5212,
designed for operation from 240V
iron in approximately 8 hours and built-in charging control prevents
overcharging. The unit is also suitable for continuous use with the iron
on workbenches to ensure a fully charged state.
To recharge, rest the iron in the unit aperture, as shown, contact is
automatically made via spring loaded terminals. A signal light is
illuminated on the body of the iron to indicate that it is under charging
conditions.
The unit is fitted with 2-core mains cable which should be connected to
a mains plug, wired as follows:
Brown wire to live terminal marked 'L'
Blue wire to neutral terminal marked 'N'
