Before Using for the First Time
1. Carefully unpack the Chafing Dish and remove all packaging and materials. Remove any labels from the
stainless steel surface.
2. Set the Chafing Dish base on a dry, clean and flat surface.
3. Place the Chafing Dish into the base; then add 2 cups water to the Chafing Dish. Add the lid.
4. Plug the cord into a 120 V AC electrical outlet.
5. Turn the temperature control dial to HIGH. Allow the Chafing Dish to heat for 10 minutes.
NOTE: When the Chafing Dish is heated for the first time, it may emit slight smoke or odor. This is
normal and should disappear. This will not affect the safety of the appliance.
6. Using a protective oven mitt or potholder, grasp the lid and set aside. Discard the water. Rinse and dry,
add lid and store until ready for use.
