product that will provide you with warmth and atmosphere for many
years. Please read the user manual before using the fire. Should,
despite the careful final checks, a malfunction occur, please contact
your Faber dealer.
1.1
Check
Check the fire for transport damage and report any damage
immediately to your dealer.
1.2
Introduction
>
Please note:
This fire produces heat which will promote air circulation. For this
reason, it is important that you do not use the fire shortly after a
room or house renovation. Moisture and volatile compounds from
freshly applied paint, building materials, floor coverings etc. may be
circulated in the airstream. Compounds may be deposited on cold
surfaces as soot. Consult your gas fitter for more information on
using the product for the first time.
1.3

Safety instructions for the user

The appliance has been designed for atmospheric and heating
purposes. This means that all visible surfaces of the fire, including
the glass, can become very hot (hotter than 100°C). It is advisable
to always install a screen for the fireplace if children, elderly or disa-
bled people are present in the same room as the fireplace. If
vulnerable persons can be present in the room without supervision,
sufficient protection must always be placed around the fireplace.
If the fire switches off with no known cause, wait for at least
15 minutes before re-igniting the fire again. If this happens
repeatedly, contact your gas fitter..
The fire should not be used if the glass is damaged, has
been removed or if the combustion chamber is open.
Do NOT place any flammable materials in the combustion
chamber.
Never change the position of the log set or add more
decorative materials than have been supplied with the fire.
When the fire is switched on, the pilot flame should always
be visible.
Do NOT place curtains, clothes, laundry, furniture or any
other flammable materials in the vicinity of the appliance. The
minimum safe distance to combustible materials is 1m.
1.4
Using the fire for the first time
Before ignition, remove all stickers, protective wrappings and, if
present, rubber protective padding from the glass. Make sure the
room is properly ventilated the first time the fire is switched on.
Burn the fire on the highest setting for some hours so that the
lacquer coating will have an opportunity to set and possible vapours
released can be safely removed by ventilation. Keep children and
pets outside the room during this process!
>
Please note:
Before igniting the fire, slide the lever all the way to the right to
activate the switch!!
1.5

Cleaning and maintenance

The fire must be serviced, cleaned and checked for suitable
operation by a qualified person (usually the installer) once a year.
The outside of the fire can be cleaned with a clean, damp cloth.
