The R-080410 is a practical pantograph type support especially designed for micro-milling
work and to facilitate the handling of its built-in parallelometer. The unit is supplied with the
following accessories:
4 sets of bushings of different sizes.
1 tool holder support.
1 cutter holder with wrench.
2 charcoal scribers and 1 analyser tip.
3 wing tips (0.25, 0.5 & 0.75 mm).
1 spatula.
2 Allen wrenches (3 & 5 mm).
WORKPIECE ATTACHMENT
1. Release the fixing screw (A)
2. Locate the object to be machined on the work bed (B). This bed has two grooved stops to
prevent the workpiece from moving: ensure that the workpiece is properly fitted between
them.
3. Tighten the fixing screw (A).
4. The work bed has a ball joint so that it can be set at the optimum inclination for each job. To
adjust this joint, slacken the lock nut (C), move the bed as required and re-tighten it.
5. The bed can be dismounted by releasing the two screws fixing it to the support with the 5
mm Allen wrench. This enables the workpiece to be oriented by hand for greater precision.
USING THE PARALLELOMETER
The lower con-rod (D) enables either the pantograph-type micro-milling support or the
parallelometer to be brought closer to the work bed, thus preventing any problems due to these
devices interfering with each other.
To use the parallelometer, turn the lower con rod (D) until it is perpendicular to you and the
minimum gap between the con rod end and the bed is reached. To prevent unwanted
movements during handling, the lower con rod can be locked by turning the locking screw
beside the turning shaft with a 3 mm Allen wrench.
The parallelometer has two more articulated con rods which provide access for the analyser tip
of the instrument to any point on the horizontal plane. Vertical movement is obtained by
pressing the opposite end to the analyser tip.
USING THE MICRO-MILLING SUPPORT
Fit the required micro-motor hand -piece on the micro-milling head (E). To ensure a correct
fit, select the most suitable of the four sets of bushings supplied with the unit. To attach the
micro-motor hand-piece tighten the head fixing screw.
Bring the micro-milling support assembly close to the work bed by rotating it on the lower
con rod (D). To prevent unwanted movements during micro-milling, the lower con rod can be
locked by turning the locking screw with a 3 mm Allen wrench.
The micro-milling support has two more con rods which allow the head to move freely in the
horizontal plane. One of the two directions of horizontal movement can be disabled by
turning the locking screw beside the con rod turning shafts with a 3 mm Allen wrench.
