The head is suspended from a no n-rigid parallelogram which enables it to move vertically.
To adjust the level to which it drops, slacken the lock nut on the descent stop (F) and turn
the stop screw to the desired level. Then re-tighten the lock nut.
The head height can also be held steady at the desired level. To do this, lock the
articulations of the non-rigid parallelogram by tightening the two turning screws with a 5 mm
Allen wrench.
For certain tasks, the cutter holder (H) supplied with the unit can be mounted on the micro-
milling support head. This enables a wide range of tips and accessories to be used (consult
your MESTRA dealer). The tips not being used can be stored in the tool holder support (G) at
the base of the unit.
MAINTENANCE & CLEANING
To ensure long life and service from the unit, we recommend the following:
After micro-milling, use a fine brush to clean away dirt and dust deposited on the unit. Take
particular care to clean the articulations of the con rods.
Con rods are articulated on bearings. The articulations of the non-rigid parallelogram on the
head can be lubricated regularly if required, using fine mineral oil.
For general cleaning of the unit, use a dry cloth. Never submerge it in liquid.
Do not force the con rods to move when they are locked: damage to their shafts could
ensue.
PRECAUTIONS
♦ When micro-milling use suitable protective gauntlets, goggles and a face-mask.
♦ Do not allow children or unskilled personnel to handle the unit.
♦ Before starting work, ensure that the workpiece is properly fixed to the bed.
