7. FILE TRANSFER

Connecting the camera to a computer will allow for transfer of photographs and video fi les.
For this process, it is important that the camera be confi gured as a disk drive. To adjust this
setting, follow these steps:
- In any of the settings, press MENU twice to enter the confi gurations menu (Conf.), press
UP once and use
• On a PC:
1. Connect the camera to the computer with the USB
cable included.
2. From your computer, double-click the My PC icon,
then fi nd and double-click on the Removable Disk
Drive.
3. Double-click on the DCIM folder.
4. Double-click the folder 100DSCIM, where the photos and videos are stored.
5. Copy or drag the fi les to your computer's hard drive. Now you can view the photos and
videos from your computer.
• On a Mac:
1. Connect the camera to the computer with the USB cable included.
2. The computer will recognize the camera as an external drive. Double-click the external
drive icon that will appear on your computer desktop to access its fi les.
3. Copy or drag the fi les to your computer's hard drive. Now you can view the photos and
videos from your computer.
When you delete the fi les from your SD card, you must empty the recycle bin before removing the memory
card or disconnecting the camera. If you do not empty the recycle bin, the photos and videos will not be
completely eliminated form the SD card.
- If you wish, you can also remove the memory card from your camera an insert it into your computer and
manage the fi les the regular way.
