Notes: Unless the information is supplied for the battery,
always charge the batteries at low current rate.
Charging:
Connect the charger to battery per instructions on
pages 4 and 5.
1. Use button 1 to select the appropriate charge
current rate.
2. Use button 2 to select the battery type.
3. Use button 3 to select the appropriate charge
voltage for your battery (6V / 12V).
4. Press the start/stop charging button (4) to begin
charging.
a. If there is not a good connection, the error LED
will be lit and "Er1" will display on the digital
readout. Charging will not begin until a proper
connection is detected and start/stop charging is
pressed again.
b. If the cables are reversed, the Cables Reversed
LED will be lit. Charging will not begin until a
proper connection is detected and start/stop
charging is pressed again.
c. When charging is in progress, the Charging LED
will be lit, and the digital readout will display
the active charging parameters. You can press
the display select button change the charging
parameter displayed. It will cycle between Volts,
Amps, and battery percent.
d. When the charge is complete, the Charged LED
will be lit.
The charger will continue to monitor the battery status
and will enter a charge maintenance mode if the battery
is in good health.
If a rapid drop in voltage is detected, the charger will
enter repair mode and the Charged LED will no longer
be lit. In repair mode, the charger will begin one of two
processes.
One process will recondition the battery with a constant
current soft charge followed by high constant voltage at
15.8 V to recovery battery voltage.
The other will desulfate the battery with high-frequency
pulses.
In either mode, the Repair LED will be lit, and the
digital readout will show the status. This mode can take
between 30 minutes and 2 hours to complete.
