1 Introduction
The Sandberg Sound Boost 5.1 enables you to
have surround sound on your PC. The card has
sockets for line in, microphone, front speakers,
rear speakers and centre speaker/subwoofer and
provides both surround sound and traditional
stereo sound.
2 Installing the Card
1. Switch off your computer and disconnect all
the cables.
2. Open the case.
3. Remove the cover plate on the rear of the
computer next to a free PCI port. If you are
unsure which ports in your computer are PCI
ports, look in the instructions for your
computer or motherboard.
4. Carefully insert the card into the PCI socket
so that the metal flange is located where you
removed the cover plate. Fasten the card to
the computer case.
5. Close the case, connect all cables and start
Windows.
2.1 Installation in Windows
1. When Windows starts, the message appears
that it has "Found New Hardware". Click
"Cancel".
2. Insert the enclosed CD-ROM.
3. Run the file from the path
"D:\SOUND\CMedia8738\Setup.exe" (where
"D" indicates your CD-ROM drive).
4. Windows will now install the driver
automatically. Click "Finish" to restart your
computer.
The card is now installed and ready for use.

2.2 Installation in Windows
1. When Windows starts, the message appears
that it has "Found New Hardware". Click
"Cancel".
2. Insert the enclosed CD-ROM.
3. Select "Start" and then "Run...".
4. Specify the path
"D:\SOUND\CMedia8738\Setup.exe" (where
"D" is your CD-ROM drive). Click "OK".
5. Click "Install Device Driver and Applications".
6. Click "OK", and then "Next" three times.
7. Click "OK" to restart your computer.
8. When Windows starts, you select whether the
card is to be used for 2, 4 or 5.1 channel sound.
Click "Exit".
The card is now installed and ready for use.
