4. FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION
The DC UPS uses the on‐line structure to provide constant power without interruption. The 6
channel outputs use 6 independent fuses for protection. Any short circuit of one channel, the fuse
cut the current in short time to protect the other channels from power interruption. The smart
charger provides 27.2 Vdc charging voltage when thermal sensor is not used. The charging voltage
provides temperature compensation when thermal sensor is connected. The thermal‐compensated
charging voltage can maximize the battery life time especially for lead/calcium batteries.
In the normal mode, the charger will charge the battery and supply constant power to the output.
The charging current will reduce when load current increases. Sometimes if the peak load current is
over the level that charger can supply, the battery will supply the load current at the same time.
When battery is fully charged, the charging voltage will become temperature compensated.
Main power failure: The outputs 1 ~ 6 are powered by the battery.
5. MONITORING FUNCTIONS
AC IN / CHARGER OK LED: it lights up in green when AC input is good and charger can provide
current to the battery. In case of blackout or charger failure, this LED goes out and the error will be
reported via the dry contact signal pin1~3, pin1, pin2 become open circuit from short. A beeper will
sound with a double beep per minute.
CONTROLLER OK LED: it lights up in green when the controller is operating without fault. If the
controller is not operating properly, this LED goes out and the error will be reported via the dry
contact signal pin4~6, pin4, pin5 become open circuit.
