Hazardous voltage. Can shock, burn, or
cause death. Disconnect power to pump before servicing.
NOTICE: Kit may contain extra parts not used on your pump.
1. Remove clamp (Key 12).
NOTICE: Pump is serviceable without disturbing installa-
tion piping. Front half of pump body (Key 13) may be left
in place.
2. Remove bolts holding pump to foundation and pull pump
and motor away from pump front half.
3. Remove large O-Ring (Key 6) from groove in pump body.
Either front or back half, depending on model.
4. Loosen screws (Key 11) and remove diffuser. Remove
O-Ring (Key 10) from diffuser.
5. Loosen machine screws (Key 1A) and remove motor
canopy (Key 1B).
Capacitor voltage may be hazardous. To dis-
charge capacitor, hold insulated handle screwdriver BY THE
HANDLE and short capacitor terminals together. Do not touch
metal screwdriver blade or capacitor terminals.
6. Unscrew capacitor clamp and remove capacitor. Do not
disconnect capacitor wires.
7. Slide 7/16" open end wrench in behind spring loaded
switch on motor end of shaft; hold motor shaft with wrench
on flats and unscrew impeller (Key 8) by turning counter-
clockwise as viewed from impeller eye.
NOTICE: Larger horsepower models will have impeller
screw installed. Remove this first. Screw has left hand
threads.
8. Remove existing mechanical seal as described by instruc-
tions included with new seal, except, tap ceramic seat out
from behind back half of pump body after completing Step 9.

9. Remove hex nuts (Key 2) and remove back half of pump
body (Key 4) from motor (Key 1).
10. Remove water slinger (Key 3).
11. Remove heat sink (Key 5) from back half of pump body
(Key 4). Pry up at two or three locations using a wide
blade screwdriver. Clean heat sink cavity in pump body.
Reassembly
12. Apply thin layer of non-hardening Permatex to outer
surface of new heat sink where shown (marked "P") and
install in back half of pump body. Place 7/8" standard
socket in seal cavity of heat sink and tap with hammer
until fully seated. Wipe off any surplus Permatex from
inside of heat sink.
13. To complete reassembly, reverse instructions 3 through
10. Install mechanical seal as described by instructions
included with new seal.
NOTICE: Lightly soap diffuser O-Ring (Key 10) to ease
insertion of assembly into front half of pump body. Install
water slinger (Key 3) on motor shaft close to motor face
and away from back half of pump body (Key 4).
14. Place clamp (Key 12) on pump halves, snug up.
Alternately tighten clamp screw and tap clamp with mallet
to seat O-Ring (Key 6).
15. Reinstall base mounting bolts.
