Product description and performance characteristics:
Cellacare
®
Gilchrist Sling Classic is an orthosis for immobilisation of the joints of the
shoulder and the arm. The orthosis can be worn on the right or left arm.
Product composition:
Polyamide, polyester, polyurethane, cotton, polyoxymethylene, elastane
Intended purpose:
Orthosis for immobilisation of the shoulder joints and the arm in a defined position
Indications:
• Acute painful muscle and/or tendon disorders of shoulder and upper arm
• Post-traumatic and/or post-operative immobilisation of shoulder and upper arm in
case of:
• Shoulder dislocation, luxation, distortion, or contusion
• Acute shoulder instability
• Muscle and/or tendon injury
• Surgical repair of tendons and ligaments in the area of shoulder and upper arm
• Elbow injuries
• Upper limb paralysis
Contra-indications:
• Known allergy and/or hypersensitivity to any of the product components
Side effects:
In very rare cases, skin irritations and/or allergies may occur.
Warnings and precautions:
• Do not use Cellacare
®
Gilchrist Sling Classic unless directed by a doctor. The first time
patients use the product, they need to have a health care professional show them
how to put it on correctly.
• The doctor will determine how long the product is to be worn per day, based on the
indications and healing progress.
• Cellacare
®
Gilchrist Sling Classic should only be used on intact skin. Wounds have to
be covered with a suitable wound dressing before use.
• In case of skin diseases and/or injuries in the application area (open, non-intact
or injured skin) please contact your treating doctor/seek medical advice before
application of the product.
• Apply the product in accordance with the instructions for use and illustrations
provided. Please check the positioning of the product during use and correct as
necessary.
• In case of discomfort or problems, consult a health care professional.
• If local swelling or numbness occurs in the part of the body being treated, the product
must be removed and a medically qualified health care professional consulted.
• Cellacare
®
Gilchrist Sling Classic is intended for use on a single patient only.
• The product's durability may be compromised by certain factors, e.g. objects with
sharp edges or damage to the hook-and-loop fastener. To prevent this, the hook-and-
loop fastener should always be fastened, for example when the product is not being
worn or when being washed.
• Cellacare
®
Gilchrist Sling Classic must not be used beyond the last day of the month
indicated on the packaging (expiry date).
• If there are excessive signs of wear that could influence the performance of the
product, consult a healthcare professional and replace the product if necessary.
Usage information:
Preparation:
1. Apply Cellacare
®
Gilchrist Sling Classic while standing. The orthosis can be used for the
right or left arm. To set up the orthosis for the arm in need of treatment, please follow
the corresponding pictures.
2. Take the orthosis out of the packaging. Unfold the orthosis and unfasten the hook-
and-loop fasteners on the straps and the small linking piece (A).
3. Place the orthosis in front of you exactly as shown in the picture (Fig. 1).
4. Grasp the buckle (B). Lift the buckle slightly and place it above the hook-and-loop
fastener (C) (Fig. 2). Pull the part of the hook-and-loop fastener which is pointing in
your direction through the buckle from below, so that it cannot slip out (Fig. 3).
Usage:
1. Grasp the orthosis on the linking element (D) of the straps (Fig. 4) and turn the orthosis
so that the wider part of the orthosis (part for the elbow) is placed in direction of the
elbow of the injured arm.
2. Pull the linking element (D) over your head and over the injured shoulder (Fig. 5 and Fig. 6).
3. Place the injured arm into the sling (Fig. 7). Push the elbow as far as possible into the
sling.
4. Pull the hook-and-loop fastener (C) further through the buckle (Fig. 8) and place it on
the orthosis so that your arm is positioned at a 90-degree angle.
5. Take the small linking piece with the hook parts (A). Close the sling by placing it on the
loop parts above your forearm (Fig. 9).
6. Grasp the loose strap end (E) behind your back and pull it to the front under your
armpit. Attach the hook part to the orthosis below your hand (Fig. 10).
7. Check the fit of the orthosis. Make sure that the straps are positioned flatly and are
not twisted. If required, correct the wearing position by adjusting the orthosis with the
help of the hook-and-loop fasteners.
Care recommendations:
Machine wash at 30 °C (delicates cycle) with similar colours. Do not bleach. Allow
Cellacare
®
Gilchrist Sling Classic to air-dry away from heat sources; do not dry in a dryer.
Do not iron and do not dry clean. Close the hook-and-loop fasteners and if possible use
a mesh bag. Clean the hook-and-loop fasteners regularly so it retains its ability to fasten
tightly, and to preserve the performance of the product.
Storage and transport conditions:
Cellacare
®
Gilchrist Sling Classic must be kept away from light and moisture (preferably in
the original packaging).
Disposal:
In Europe, product waste can be assigned a waste code from Chapter 18 01 and
packaging waste a waste code from Chapter 15 01 of the Directive on the European
Waste Catalogue (Waste Catalogue Ordinance – AVV). Packaging labelled as recyclable
should be taken to the applicable national recycling systems.
General information:
In case of a serious incident, contact the manufacturer and the responsible health
authorities.

• Subluxación, luxación, esguince o contusión
• Inestabilidad aguda del hombro
• Lesiones de los músculos y/o de los tendones
• Intervención quirúrgica en tendones y ligamentos en el área del hombro y del brazo
• Lesiones del codo
• Parálisis de las extremidades superiores
Contraindicaciones:

aplicar el producto.
• Coloque el producto de acuerdo con las instrucciones de uso y las ilustraciones
facilitadas. Compruebe la posición del producto durante el uso y corríjala en caso
necesario.
• Si padece molestias o problemas, consulte a un profesional sanitario.
• Si se produce una inflamación local o entumecimiento en la parte del cuerpo en
tratamiento, debe retirarse el producto y buscar asistencia médica.

Gilchrist Sling Classic está previsto para su uso exclusivo por un solo
paciente.
• La durabilidad del producto puede verse afectada por determinados factores, como
p. ej. por objetos con bordes afilados o por daños en el cierre de velcro. Para evitar
esto, el cierre de velcro deberá estar siempre cerrado, por ejemplo, cuando no se lleve
puesto el producto o necesite lavarse.

Gilchrist Sling Classic no debe ser utilizado después del último día
®
especificado en el envase (fecha de caducidad).
• Si detecta marcas de desgaste excesivas que puedan comprometer la eficacia del

Modo de aplicación:
Preparación:
1. Cellacare
®
Gilchrist Sling Classic debe colocarse estando de pie. La órtesis puede
colocarse en el brazo derecho o izquierdo. Para colocar la órtesis en el respectivo brazo
guíese por las ilustraciones correspondientes.
2. Saque la órtesis del embalaje. Despliegue la órtesis y suelte los cierres velcro de las
correas y de la pieza de conexión (A).
3. Coloque la órtesis ante usted exactamente como en la ilustración (fig. 1).
4. Tome la hebilla (B), levántela ligeramente y colóquela encima del cierre de velcro sin que
haya contacto con el mismo (C) (fig. 2). Deslice la parte delantera del cierre de velcro a
través de la hebilla para que no se salga (fig. 3).
Aplicación:
1. Sujete la órtesis por el elemento de conexión (D) de las correas (fig. 4) y gire la órtesis
una vez, de modo que la parte más ancha de la órtesis (a nivel del codo) esté orientada
hacia el codo del brazo afectado.
2. Pase el elemento de conexión (D) por encima de su cabeza y del hombro afectado (fig. 5 y
6).
3. Coloque el brazo afectado dentro del lazo (fig. 7). Deslice el codo lo más lejos posible
dentro del lazo.
4. Siga deslizando el cierre de velcro (C) a través de la hebilla (fig. 8) y colóquelo sobre la
órtesis de modo que el codo forme un ángulo de 90 grados.
5. Tome la pieza de conexión con los cierres de velcro (A). Cierre el lazo con la misma
colocándolo encima de la superficie velcro prevista para tal efecto situada sobre el
antebrazo (fig. 9).
6. Agarre el extremo suelto de la correa (E) situada a su espalda y tire de él hacia delante
pasando por debajo de la axila. Coloque la correa sobre la órtesis debajo de su mano
(fig. 10).
7. Compruebe que la órtesis está bien colocada. Asegúrese de que las correas están bien
planas y no están torcidas. De ser necesario, puede corregir la posición de la órtesis
mediante los cierres de velcro.
Recomendación de mantenimiento:
Lavado a máquina a 30 °C (programa para ropa delicada) con prendas de colores
similares. No utilice lejía. Deje que Cellacare
®
Gilchrist Sling Classic se seque al aire y
alejado de fuentes de calor; no lo seque en la secadora. No planche Cellacare
Sling Classic ni lo lave con productos químicos. Cierre el cierre de velcro y utilice de ser
posible una red de lavado. Limpie los cierres de velcro periódicamente para garantizar su
capacidad de cierre y la eficacia del producto.

sensazione di intorpidimento, rimuovere il prodotto e chiedere consiglio a personale

Gilchrist Sling Classic è concepito per essere usato in un solo paziente.
• La validità del prodotto può essere compromessa da alcuni fattori, ad esempio oggetti
con bordi taglienti o danni alla chiusura in velcro. Per evitare ciò, la chiusura in velcro
deve sempre rimanere chiusa, ad esempio, quando il prodotto non viene indossato o
quando viene lavato.

per il rispettivo braccio, seguire le immagini corrispondenti.
2. Rimuovere l'ortesi dalla confezione. Aprire l'ortesi e sganciare le chiusure in velcro dei
cinturini e della fascia di collegamento (A).
3. Disporre l'ortesi davanti a sé esattamente come illustrato in figura (Fig. 1).
4. Prendere la fibbia (B), sollevarla leggermente e portarla sopra la chiusura in velcro (C)
(Fig. 2). Tirare la parte della chiusura in velcro che è rivolta verso se stessi e farla entrare
dal basso attraverso la fibbia in modo che non possa più scivolare fuori (Fig. 3).
Applicazione:
1. Afferrare l'ortesi dall'elemento di collegamento (D) dei cinturini (Fig. 4) e ruotare una
volta l'ortesi in modo che la parte più ampia di quest'ultima (area per il gomito) sia
orientata verso il gomito del braccio lesionato.
2. Passare l'elemento di collegamento (D) sopra la testa e sulla spalla lesionata (Fig. 5 e Fig. 6).
3. Posizionare il braccio lesionato nell'imbragatura (Fig. 7). Far scorrere il più possibile il
gomito nell'imbragatura.
4. Tirare ulteriormente la chiusura in velcro (C) attraverso la fibbia (Fig. 8) e posizionarla
sull'ortesi in modo che l'articolazione del gomito sia posizionata con un angolo di circa
90 gradi.
5. Prendere la fascia di collegamento con le estremità in velcro (A). Chiudere l'imbragatura
per il braccio posizionando la fascia sulle superfici in velcro previste sopra l'avambraccio
(Fig. 9).
6. Afferrare l'estremità libera del cinturino (E) dietro la schiena e tirarla in avanti sotto
l'ascella. Fissare il cinturino all'ortesi al di sotto della mano (Fig. 10).
7. Controllare l'adattamento dell'ortesi. Assicurarsi che i cinturini siano piatti e non
attorcigliati. Se necessario, correggere l'adattamento regolando l'ortesi con l'aiuto delle
chiusure in velcro.
Lavaggio:
Lavare in lavatrice a 30 °C (ciclo di lavaggio delicato) con capi con colori simili. Non
utilizzare candeggina. Lasciare asciugare Cellacare
®
Gilchrist Sling Classic all'aria e lontano
da fonti di calore; non asciugare in asciugatrice. Non stirare e non lavare a secco. Chiudere
la chiusura in velcro e utilizzare possibilmente una retina per lavaggio. Pulire regolarmente
la chiusura in velcro per garantire che mantenga la sua proprietà adesiva e l'efficacia del
prodotto.

®
Gilchrist Sling Classic is een orthese voor het immobiliseren van het
schoudergewricht en de arm. De orthese kan zowel aan de rechter- als aan de linkerarm
worden gedragen.
Productsamenstelling:

Beoogd gebruik:
Orthese voor het immobiliseren van het schoudergewricht en de arm in een bepaalde
positie
Indicaties:
• acuut pijnlijk spier- en/of peesletsel aan schouder en bovenarm
• posttraumatische en/of postoperatieve fixatie van schouder en bovenarm bij:
• volledige of gedeeltelijke ontwrichting, verrekking of knelling
• acute schouderinstabiliteit
• spier- en/of peesletsel
• chirurgische ingreep aan pezen en banden in het gebied van de schouder en bovenarm
• elleboogletsel
• verlamming van de bovenste ledematen
Contra-indicaties:
• bekende allergie en/of overgevoeligheid voor het product of bestanddelen daarvan
Bijwerkingen:
In zeer zeldzame gevallen kunnen huidirritatie en/of allergieën optreden.
Waarschuwingen en voorzorgsmaatregelen:
• Gebruik de Cellacare
Gilchrist Sling Classic alleen als dit door een arts is
®
voorgeschreven. Bij het eerste gebruik van het product moet de patiënt door vakkundig
personeel worden geïnstrueerd in het op de juiste manier aanbrengen van dit product.
• De draagduur van het product wordt door de behandelend arts bepaald, al naargelang
indicaties en genezingsverloop.
• De Cellacare
®
Gilchrist Sling Classic mag uitsluitend op een intacte huid worden
gebruikt. Wonden moeten voorafgaand aan het aanleggen met een geschikt
wondverband worden afgedekt.
• Bij huidziektes en/of letsel in het applicatiegebied (open, niet-intacte of beschadigde
huid) neemt u contact op met de behandelend arts of vraagt u medisch advies voordat
u het product gaat aanleggen.
• Leg het product met behulp van de bijgeleverde gebruiksaanwijzing en de afbeeldingen
aan. Controleer of het product tijdens het gebruik goed blijft zitten en corrigeer als dit
niet het geval is.
• Bij klachten of problemen raadpleegt u een professionele zorgverlener.
• Als in het behandelde lichaamsdeel zwelling of een doof gevoel optreedt, moet het
product worden verwijderd en advies worden gevraagd aan een zorgverlener.
• De Cellacare
®
Gilchrist Sling Classic is uitsluitend bestemd voor gebruik bij één patiënt.
• De duurzaamheid van het product kan door bepaalde factoren in gevaar komen, bv.
door voorwerpen met scherpe randen of door schade aan de klittenbandsluiting. Om
dit te voorkomen moet de klittenbandsluiting altijd gesloten worden, bijvoorbeeld als
het product niet wordt gedragen of als het wordt gewassen.
• De Cellacare
Gilchrist Sling Classic mag niet meer worden gebruikt na de laatste dag
®
van de maand die op de verpakking staat aangegeven (uiterste houdbaarheidsdatum).
• Bij bovenmatige gebruikssporen die een negatieve invloed kunnen hebben op de
prestaties van het product, raadpleegt u professionele zorgverleners en vervangt u het
product als dat nodig is.
Gebruiksinstructies:
Voorbereiding:
1. De Cellacare
Gilchrist Sling Classic moet worden aangelegd terwijl u staat. De orthese
®
kan zowel voor de rechter- als voor de linkerschouder worden gebruikt. Voor het
aanbrengen van de orthese aan de betreffende arm volgt u de afbeeldingen.
2. Neem de orthese uit de verpakking. Vouw de orthese open en maak de
klittenbandsluitingen van de banden en het verbindingsstuk los (A).
3. Vouw de orthese voor u uit precies zoals in de afbeelding wordt weergegeven (Afb. 1).
4. Pak de gesp (B), til deze iets omhoog en leid deze over de klittenbandsluiting (C) (Afb.
2). Trek het naar u wijzende deel van de klittenbandsluiting van onderen door de gesp
zodat het er niet meer uit kan glijden (Afb. 3).
Toepassing:
1. Pak de orthese vast aan het verbindingselement (D) van de banden (Afb. 4) en draai de
orthese eenmaal zodat het bredere deel van de orthese (voor de elleboog) in de richting
van de elleboog van de aangedane arm wijst.
2. Leid het verbindingselement (D) over uw hoofd en de aangedane schouder (Afb. 5 en
Afb. 6).
3. Leg de aangedane arm in de sling (Afb. 7). Schuif de elleboog zo ver mogelijk in de
sling.
4. Trek de klittenbandsluiting (C) verder door de gesp (Afb. 8) en zet deze zodanig op
de orthese vast dat uw ellebooggewricht in een hoek van ongeveer 90 graden wordt
geplaatst.
5. Pak het verbindingsstuk met de uiteinde van de klittenbandsluiting (A). Sluit daarmee
de sling waarbij u de klittenbandsluiting op het daarvoor bestemde kleefvlak op de
onderarm vastzet (Afb. 9).
6. Pak het vrije uiteinde van de band (E) achter uw rug langs en trek dit onder uw oksel
door naar voren. Breng de band onder uw hand op de orthese aan (Afb. 10).
7. Controleer of de orthese goed zit. Let erop dat de banden plat liggen en niet gedraaid
zijn. Indien nodig kunt u de draagpositie corrigeren door de sling aan te passen met
behulp van de klittenbandsluitingen.
Wasvoorschrift:
Wassen in de machine op 30°C (programma voor fijne was) met soortgelijke kleuren. Geen
bleekmiddel gebruiken. Laat de Cellacare
®
Gilchrist Sling Classic aan de lucht drogen, uit
de buurt van warmtebronnen. Niet drogen in de wasdroger. Niet strijken en niet chemisch
reinigen. Sluit de klittenbandsluitingen en maak indien mogelijk gebruik van een waszakje.
Maak het klittenband regelmatig schoon om de kleefkracht van het klittenband en de
werkzaamheid van het product te behouden.
Opslag- en transportvereisten:
De Cellacare
®
Gilchrist Sling Classic bij voorkeur in de originele verpakking bewaren ter
bescherming tegen licht en vocht.
Weggooien:
In Europa kan productafval worden toegewezen aan een afvalcode uit hoofdstuk 18
01 en verpakkingsafval aan een afvalcode uit hoofdstuk 15 01 van de Richtlijn over de
Europese Afvalcatalogus (Afvalcatalogusbesluit – AVV). Verpakkingen die geschikt zijn voor
hergebruik, moeten naar de betreffende nationale recyclesystemen worden gebracht.
