Attaching the anti-tip device
to the wall
□ Determine the location of the mantel and mark the location
on the wall for the other mounting bracket screw (BB) holes.
Using a drill or screwdriver, make holes in the wall where
marked.
□ If you are attaching to drywall or plaster, insert a wall
anchor (DD) into each hole in the wall.
□ Position the mounting bracket (AA) over the holes in the
wall and use the 1-3/8 in. screws (BB) to securely attach the
mounting bracket (AA) to the wall.

Securing the anti-tip device
□ Place the mantel so the mounting bracket (AA) on the back
edge is in alignment with the mounting bracket (AA) on the
wall.
□ Place an end of the nylon strap (CC) down through each
moutning bracket (AA). Bring both ends together and slide
the end of the nylon strap (CC) through the slot in the other
end until snug. Pull down on the end until it snap locks into
the slot.
□ Check to make sure the nylon strap (CC) is securely laced
and locked to the mounting brackets (AA).
