IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

This product was designed and manufactured to meet strict quality and
safety standards. There are, however, some installation and operation
precautions which you should be particularly aware of. Please review
and adhere to all safety instructions listed in the inside cover of the Polk
DSB1 Sound Bar Setup Guide.
Where to locate your subwoofer for the best sound
Your wireless subwoofer is really easy to place and can go just about
anywhere in the room. Plus you don't have to worry about connecting
wires, because the only wire you have to plug in is the power cord.
And that's it.
Here's a little trick:
Put your subwoofer in a corner of your room; it will reinforce
the subwoofer's output, making it sound louder.
Subwoofer and Bar Syncing
Note: You may see a slow blinking green LED on the sound bar and
subwoofer, indicating that they are searching for each other. If they are
unable to make a connection, both LEDs will begin to flash rapidly after
and will continue to do so until a connection is made.
Use the following steps to pair the sound bar and subwoofer:
1. Unplug the subwoofer.
2. Turn on the sound bar and press and hold the sync button on the
back of the sound bar for 3 seconds. The LED on the back of the
sound bar flashes rapidly.
3. Plug in the subwoofer.
4. When the sub begins to sync, the LED on the subwoofer
will flash rapidly.
5. Both LEDs shine solid green when the bar and sub are synced.
Operation
1. The subwoofer is always on when plugged in.
2. A multifunction Status LED on the sub's amplifier faceplate indicates:
• ON: Green solid and synced
• STANDBY: Red solid
• PROTECTION MODE: Red flashing
• SEARCHING FOR SYNCED DEVICE: Slow green flashing
• PAIRING TO DEVICE: Rapid green flashing

Bass Control

Remote Control:
Use the Bass UP and DOWN buttons on the included remote control that
comes with the sound bar.
Bar Buttons:
Subwoofer volume can be controlled by pressing and holding the
MUTE button while the system is ON, then pressing the VOLUME UP
(subwoofer up) or DOWN (subwoofer down) buttons at the same time.
• Leading LED on bar flashes with every Volume UP
or Volume DOWN press.
• Maximum subwoofer volume: all LEDs flash quickly 1X.
• Minimum subwoofer volume: LED #1 flashes white quickly 1X.
Fine Tuning Your Subwoofer Bass Level
The next thing you'll want to do is adjust the subwoofer to blend
with your bar. This will ensure the system produces the best sound.
To set the subwoofer's volume, play a variety of source material—
some music, a movie sound track with great special effects,
a movie chapter or a part of a concert in which people are
speaking. Adjust the bass until what you hear sounds
natural to you in your normal viewing location.
A Note Regarding Wireless Performance: Like all wireless devices, your Polk DSB Sound Bar System
may be susceptible to RF interference from such sources as microwave ovens, Wi-Fi computer systems,
video game systems, cordless telephones, blue tooth systems, baby monitors and other devices.
In particular, any devices operating in the 2.4GHz band may cause intermittent wireless connections
between the Polk DSB1 Sound Bar and Polk DSB2 wireless subwoofer. It is also possible that your Polk
DSB1 Sound Bar System may affect other wireless systems. For the most part, you can avoid wireless
performance problems by physically separating these devices from your Polk DSB Sound Bar System.
Maintaining a distance of several feet or more between your Polk DSB1 Sound Bar and any wireless
device should prevent any mutual interference effects. If you do notice any subwoofer signal dropouts
take care to identify the root cause (most commonly having other wireless devices too close) and resolve
accordingly. Any interference effects from a microwave oven will cease once the oven stops operating
and may be resolved on a long-term basis by increasing the physical distance between your Polk DSB1
Sound Bar and the microwave oven.
Warning: Listen Carefully
Polk loudspeakers and subwoofers are capable of playing at extremely high volume
levels, which could cause serious or permanent hearing damage. Polk Audio, Inc.
accepts no liability for hearing loss, bodily injury or property damage resulting from
the misuse of its products.
Keep these guidelines in mind and always use your good judgment when controlling volume:
• You should limit prolonged exposure to volumes that exceed 85 decibels(dB).
