Additional Operating Instructions and Tips
•
Make sure you observe the maximum time of continuous operation of the appli-
ance. Exceeding the time limit and failing to provide breaks between juice cycles
may cause damage to the engine.
•
If the auger or lid becomes locked, do not force anything. Set the control knob to
"R" (reverse) for 3 to 5 seconds. Repeat the process two to three times to remove
the blockage and allow free movement of parts once again.
•
When processing larger quantities of food, the pulp spout may have to be emp-
tied periodically
•
Always use clean, fresh fruit and vegetables.
•
Do not process ice with this appliance.
•
Do not process frozen fruit with this appliance.
•
Remove stems from leafy greens for less bitter tasting juice.
•
Hard fruit/vegetables such as beetroot as a whole can damage the blade and the
gears of the appliance. This damage is not covered by the warranty.
•
Food should be sliced into pieces which fit into tube, but not much smaller.
•
Ensure that the container or jug placed under the spout does not overflow, espe-
cially when using larger fruit. If the jug is about to overflow, it may be necessary
to stop juicing and close the juice spout while you quickly empty and replace the
jug. Remember to open the spout again when juicing resumes.
•
If juicing herbs or leafy vegetables, you may collect them in a bundle before plac-
ing them in the juicer.
•
Apple juice turns brown very quickly. You can slow down this process by adding a
few drops of lemon juice.
•
Fruit with small seeds (e.g. chokeberry, raspberry, blackcurrant) must be pro-
cessed in small batches of about 1 lb. Between each batch, turn off the appliance
and clean it using the instructions in this guide.
•
Remove large pits from fruit before juicing.
•
The juicer is not suitable for juicing very hard and starchy fruits or vegetables
such as sugar cane.
•
When juicing fruit and vegetables of various consistencies, it may help to juice the
softer food first.
•
If the appliance is turned on, but the motor does run, ensure that the unit is
plugged in and that the lid is locked into place. Unplug the appliance and reas-
semble it if necessary.
