Settings

The Settings screen includes five options: Auto Print, Europe 4 ppb (parts
per billion), Comm Device, Time Date Format and Printer Setup. When you
are finished changing these settings, tap Done to return to the Utilities
screen.
The Auto Print setting defaults to the On option, which will print a
report at the end of each test that you read. Select the Off option if
you do not want to print a report after reading the tests.
NOTE: The On option, which is required for NCIMS testing, is
automatically selected when you select the Full Read option when
reading a test.
The SNAPshot DSR Reader is factory-set to the Beta-Lactam Penicillin 5 ppb
option, which is required for NCIMS testing. Select the On option for Europe 4
ppb when using SNAP
The Comm Device option allows you to choose either RS-232 or USB cord to
connect to a PC. For more information call Technical Service.
The Time Format option lets you choose either a 12-hour or 24-hour clock
setting. Tap one of the boxes next to Time Format to select the desired setting.
The Date Format option lets you choose how the date is displayed. Tap one of
the boxes next to the Date Format to select the desired format from the following
options:
MM/DD/YY—month/day/year
DD/MM/YY—day/month/year
YY/MM/DD—year/month/day
If you are using a printer that was not supplied by IDEXX, the Printer Setup
option lets you set up your printer for use with the SNAPshot DSR Reader. Make
your selections for each of the options (Parity, Data Bits, Stop Bits, Baud and
CTS/RTS) and then tap Done to save the settings and return to the Settings
screen. Consult your printer documentation for the applicable settings.
NOTE: A printer is required for NCIMS testing.

Contrast

The Contrast option adjusts how dark or light your SNAPshot DSR
Reader's screen appears. Tap the Contrast button on the Utilities screen
to display the Adjust Contrast slide bar.
To change the contrast:
1. Tap the bar to the right of the slider to make the screen darker, or tap
to the left of the slider to make the screen lighter. The reader's screen
changes as you adjust the contrast.
TIP: You can also place the stylus or your finger on the slider and drag
it to the left to lighten or to the right to darken.
