Installation Instructions
Note: It is important to ensure that network cable is totally
inoperative during transceiver installation.
Switch Options
The recessed switches in the side of the transceiver give options for
SQE, link integrity and polarity reversal tests.
ENA = Enables test
DIS = Disables test
SQE (Signal Quality Error)
With SQE test enabled, the workstation to which the transceiver is
connected will receive a message when the network is busy.
Link Integrity
With link integrity enabled the transceiver tests and verifies that
connections are correct.
Polarity Test
With polarity test enabled, the transceiver checks for reverse polarity
on the input receive pair.
Transceiver Connection
Connect the transceiver AUI interface to the workstation or local PC.
Connect an 8-way RJ45 plug with twisted pair wiring to the receive port.
