IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should be
followed, including the following:
1. READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING.
2. FILTER HOLDER MUST BE ATTACHED SECURELY, IN THE LOCKED POSITION, BEFORE USE
TO AVOID UNINTENTIONAL DISLODGING DURING BREW PROCESS WHICH CAN CAUSE
DAMAGE OR INJURY.
3. Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
4. Scalding may occur if the lid is removed during or immediately after the brewing cycles.
Contents may be hot. Allow to cool before opening the lid.
5. To avoid possible burns to body part and/or other injury from hot steam and water, NEVER
open the Water Reservoir Cap or remove lter holder while your espresso maker is turned on
or as long as there is pressure in the water reservoir.
6. Always be sure Water Reservoir Cap is tightened securely before turning appliance on.
7. DO NOT attempt to unscrew Water Reservoir Cap OR remove Filter Holder without releasing
pressure rst.
8. The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the appliance manufacturer may
result in re, electrical shock or injury to persons.
9. Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
10. Do not use outdoors.
11. To protect against re, electric shock and injury, do not immerse cords, plugs or the
appliance in water or any other liquid.
12. Use only water in this appliance. Do not put any other liquids or foods in the water reservoir.
13. To disconnect the espresso maker, remove the power plug from the power supply.
14. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance
malfunctions or is damaged in any manner.
15. Do not let the cord hang over the edge of the table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
16. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
17. Do not use appliance for other than intended use.
18. Place the espresso maker on a hard, at, level surface to avoid interruption of air ow
underneath.
19. This carafe must never be used on a range top or in any oven, including a microwave oven.
20. Do not set a hot carafe on a wet or cold surface.

21. Do not clean the carafe with abrasive cleaners, steel wool pad or other abrasive materials.
22. Avoid sudden temperature changes, such as rinsing, washing, lling, or immersing a hot
container with cold liquids.
23. Do not use a cracked carafe or a carafe having a loose or weakened handle.
24. Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or
taking off parts, and before cleaning the appliance.
