6.4.2. Station inlet
The inlet pipe must be perfectly waterproof and must
have a downward slope (minimum 2%).
To avoid possible amalgams or plugs, the slope must
be linear over its entire length (upward slope to be
avoided).
EN
6.4.3. Delivery pipe
Fit a gate valve in the delivery pipe to adjust delivery
and head. Install a pressure gauge.
With a geodetic head at outlet over 15 m fit a check
valve between the pump and the gate valve in order to
protect the pump from water hammering.
6.4.4. Ventilation
The lifting station must be equipped with ventilation
to prevent the appearance of H2S.
6.5. Installing the station inside a building
Place the lifting station on a flat and level
surface capable of bearing the weight of the
station during operation.
Leave at least 50 cm of free space around the station
for installation and maintenance purposes. Fix the
lifting station so that it cannot rotate.
Protect the lifting station from frost and
ventilate it to prevent the formation of toxic and/
or flammable gases.
Provide for enough space all around the control
panel for natural cooling.
This electric control box should be installed in
a well-ventilated position and protected from
adverse weather. Maximum temperature of
exposure: 40°C.
Do not install the control panel in places
exposed to direct sunlight or near sources of
heat.
6.6. Installing the station outside a building
Do not position the lifting station directly on
the ground. The chosen area must not contain
ground water or be subject to flooding. Fix the
station so as to prevent it from rotating and
floating.
The base must be horizontal and capable of bearing
the weight of the station while it is operating.
Depending on the characteristics of the ground it may
be necessary to erect brick, prefab or concrete walls.
Fill the space between the hole and station with sand
and compress it (see chapter 6.6.1.).
Protect the station from frost.
Do not drive vehicles over the cover.
Singlebox Plus / Doublebox Plus: in case
of underground installation, the basin can
withstand passing loads of 100 kg.
Close the hole with a cover (manhole) or another
method for simplifying subsequent maintenance
operations. Erect signs indicating the presence
of the station to avoid accidental damage. Leave
enough space around and above the lifting station for
installation and maintenance purposes.

6.6.1. Wet ground
In order to avoid any stress on the lifting station, it
is recommended:
- For wet terrain, install a decompression well 60cm
from the substation and 20cm lower than the bottom
of the substation.
- For very wet ground, install drainage under the
bottom invert of the excavation communicating with
the decompression well.
- For land with a groundwater, install drainage and a
decompression well.
6.6.2. Procedures for burial
1. Excavate with dimensions suggested in chapter
12.2.
2. Create a base of 15-20 cm of non-recycled sand fig.
2 pos. 1 and foresee at least a drainage pipe in the
pit. Level carefully the base created right now and
pay attention to eliminate any possible irregularity.
Make sure the support does not collapse under the
weight of the full tank.
3. Having ascertained the integrity of the tank, move it
empty, using the special handles.
4. Level with the maximum accuracy the tank and its
extension pit (if any). Make all hydraulic connections
with the rest of the system and check for leaks
before continuing with the burial.
5. Fill the tank approximately 20-30 cm with water
and fill the gap between the tank and the wall of
the excavation with sand, up to the water level,
with layers of about 20-30 cm at a time (fig. 2 pos.
3). Avoid dumping the sand in large quantities,
because this could create accumulations, capable
of deforming the tank, while, on the other hand, it
could generate empty in other areas. It is crucial to
compact each added layer as much as possible.
6. We recommend filling the top of the pit, up to the
lid or at the beginning of the extension, if present,
with topsoil.
7. Keep the buried tank full of water with the lid fixed for
at least two days to allow a better settlement.
8. Before the use, be sure that an adequate venting
system was prepared, able to avoid the creation
of vacuum and allowing the air incoming constant,
during the emptying of the tank.

6.7. Electrical connection

OFF
Electrical connection must be carried out only
by a qualified electrician in accordance with
local regulations.
