1. DESCRIPTION
The 16-680-XX is a column for integration into a fencing and is part of the range Access Control Design. The column is anchored in the ground.
The column consists of two parts (with separate reference numbers): the column itself and the 2-piece front plate. The adjustable lighting module and the
bolt module are supplied with the column as a standard. The base with adjustment bolts for positioning the column is already mounted in the column. The flat
cable with connectors is supplied together with the 2-piece front plate. Both the column and the 2-piece front plate are made of enamelled aluminium.

2. INSTALLATION
Choice of the cabling
Niko recommends the following cables:
- interior cable:
- UTP cat. 5E (max. 100m)
- exterior cable / underground cable:
- UTP cat. 5E OUTDOOR
- ATCUG (armoured telephone cable): 4 x 2 x 0.8mm (This cable is less practical in use, but does guarantee covering longer distances thanks to the
larger wire section). In order to simplify installation, a transition piece from UTP to screw connection is available (16-679-01).

Installation
Make two holes (interspace of 85mm, fig. 1) in the ground for the anchor bolts (not supplied, max.
diameter 14mm) to anchor the column in the ground. Three 10mm holes are provided (fig. 1) for
the supplied adjustment bolts. These adjustment bolts enable to adjust the position of the column
in all directions (fig. 2 and 3). Insert the required cables through the opening provided (fig. 1) at
the bottom of the frame.
Remark: the base for the 16-680-XX is already attached to the column. If any difficulties with
anchoring the base in the ground or changing the position of the column occur during installation,
you can remove the base to limit the risk of damaging the column.
