Proximity reader
The proximity reader is located to the left of the output LEDs. When a promixity tag is presented,
a 'beep' should be heard from the keypad.
1. Installation
Please follow steps 1.1 through 1.5 to install keypad to surface. Step 1.6 can either be done at the
start or at the end.
Please note: Keypads/proximity readers should not be mounted on a metal surface, or be located
within 1m of another proximity reader, loudspeakers and/or any equipment using >100V; as the
tag reader response will degrade.
2. PCB layout and battery
To avoid damage to internal components, touch an earthed metal conductor to dissipate any
static electricity. With the case open, connect the battery leads to the battery connector port and
seat securely in the battery holder. When replacing the battery, disconnect the battery connector
and pull the ribbon to dislodge the battery. Dispose of old batteries in accordance with your local
regulations. Replace only with 1 x BATT-ES1 SAP: 361300030.
See diagram for the location of the tamper spring.
3. Learning the keypad
To learn the keypad, put the control panel in learning mode, ready to pair with the keypad. Press
and hold the 'learn button' for at least 5 seconds then release. Whilst holding, the LEDs will cycle
and when released, the 'disarmed' LED will ash to indicate a successful pairing. If all LEDs stay lit,
the procedure failed and must be tried again. To enable the wireless keypad, please refer to the
control panel programming guide.
4. Output control
Press d then enter Master Manager code.
Keys 1 to 4 will light up green to indicate this has been done correctly.
Press the keys to toggle the outputs on and o .
The LED of the respective output will illuminate when the output is on and will extinguish when
the output is o .
Press x to exit.
