Safety
Basic safety notes
• Read through the operating instructions before commissioning the tool and follow the
instructions they contain to the letter
• Keep the operating instructions together with the tool for future reference
• Follow the country-specific safety regulations
• Provide mains fuse protection using a residual current protective device. Country-specific
safety regulations must be observed in this respect
• This device may be used by children aged 8 years and up as well as persons with
reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience with and
knowledge about the device, provided that they are supervised or taught how to use
the device safely and that they understand the hazards that may result from this.
Children must not play with the device. Children must not carry out cleaning or user
maintenance without supervision (in accordance with EN 60335-1)
Workplace safety
• Only use the welding plate in well-ventilated areas
• Do not use the welding plate close to highly inflammable fluids or in explosive gas or
dust atmospheres
• Do not store combustible materials within 1 m of the welding plate
• Keep the working area clean and tidy
• Adequately illuminate the working area
• Keep children and unauthorized persons away from the workplace during operation of
the welding plate
• Avoid having suspended objects in the working area
Electrical safety
• Before using, always check the welding plate, mains connection cable and mains plug
for damage and proper operability
• Do not touch damaged mains connection cables or mains plugs. Have them replaced
immediately by an electrically skilled person
• Do not weld wet or water-filled pipes
• Protect the tool against moisture
• Disconnect the mains plug during any work that is not part of the welding process
• Avoid contact between the mains cable and the hot welding plate
• Have electrical equipment checked according to local regulations
