Connecting
Director's Cut
1. Software
Director's cut is recognised as a DV camera by your system, no driver
installation should be necessary. However, make sure that the Firewire/IEEE
1394 drivers provided with your system are correctly installed.
2. Connecting an analogue camcorder or VCR
Connect Director's Cut to your computer with the FireWire/IEEE 1394 cable as
shown on figure 1.
Connect your camcorder to Director's Cut via the composite or the S-Video
connector. S-video is preferred as it provides a better picture quality than
composite. The cable should be connected to the "S-Video" or "Composite"
connector in the "Inputs" part of Director's Cut.
Finally, connect the stereo sound cable from the camcorder to the "Inputs"
section of Director's Cut as shown on figure 1.
Note: If your camcorder does not have stereo sound, you should connect one
audio cable to the left channel on Director's Cut
You are now ready to capture video footage with your DV video editing
software.
