FMG 3385 Gas Finder
Product description
Designed to detect gas leaks and prevent accidents, the portable Gas Finder is a gas detector for use in enclosed spaces. It can be used to quickly
identify gas leaks or increased concentrations of gas thanks to its three-stage LED indicator and audible alarm.
Product specifi cation
Detects the following gases
LPG (propane, butane), natural gas
Alarm types
0.5 second repetitive alarm - low level of gas
0.2 second repetitive "loud" alarm - high level of gas
Alarm display
three-stage LED display in green, yellow and red (Fig. A2)
Operation
Before operating the device for the fi rst time, remove the protective cap from the Gas Finder and then remove the silicone pad from the inside of the cap.
When you have done this, you MUST replace the cap. Open the battery compartment (Fig. B) and insert two alkaline batteries (2 x AA 1.5 V batteries) into
the Gas Finder (Fig. C) (ensuring that they are inserted the right way round). Then, close the battery compartment again. Press the main switch (Fig. A3) to
switch the device on. The device will enter calibration mode and the LEDs will light up during this period. Once calibration is complete, an alarm will sound
every 30 seconds and the green LED function indicator will fl ash periodically. The device is now ready for use. Now you can fi nally remove the protective
cap from the Gas Finder (Fig. A1). Point the sensor (Fig. D1) into the area of the suspected gas leak or hold it over the outlet. If necessary, keep moving
closer to the area that you are testing. If the device detects gas, the LED status will change from green to orange or red, depending on the concentration
of gas detected. The Gas Finder will also emit a constant beep. To turn the device off , briefl y press the main switch again (Fig. A3).
Attention! Once the device has measured and indicated a gas concentration, the Gas Finder will return to calibration mode for approx. 5 - 10 minutes.
No further measurements can be taken during this period. Be sure to replace the protective cap when you have fi nished using the device.
Maintenance and safety instructions
1. Ensure that the head of the detector does not come into contact with any dirt, liquids or grease.
2. To check that the device is functioning correctly, follow the instructions provided above, release some gas from a lighter, for instance, and then hold
the Gas Finder directly over the outlet.
3. The Gas Finder must not be opened or repaired by untrained persons.
Battery capacity/battery replacement
The orange LED will start to fl ash at 10 second intervals if the voltage of the batteries in the device falls below a critical level. If this happens, you must
replace the batteries with new ones.
