Sound Ambassador 40 A
1. Input Connector
This balanced 1/4" input can receive line-level signals
from external devices, including the Sound Ambassa-
dor 35, 75 or 120 Deluxe� Connect the line output of
your Sound Ambassador Deluxe unit to this input to
create a dual mono PA system�
2. Output Connector
This balanced line-level output can be used to con-
nect to external devices, including amplifiers, active
speakers or other active Sound Ambassador expan-
sion speakers�
3. Volume Control
Use this control to adjust the output level of the Sound
Ambassador active expansion speaker�
4. Speaker Output
The signal sent from this output is taken from the ac-
tive Sound Ambassador's built-in amplifier and is able
to power external passive speakers, such as the pas-
sive Sound Ambassador expansion speakers�
The Sound Ambassador 40A uses a serial connec-
tion, whereas the Sound Ambassador 80A and 125A
use parallel connections for speaker out�
5. LED Indicators
Users will find 3 LED indicators on the Sound Ambas-
sador 80A and 125A. The top LED will flash red when
the system's built-in batteries are charging and turn
green when full. The center LED will flash in red when
the unit is charging and the lower LED will illuminate in
blue when the unit is activated�
The Sound Ambassador 40A features 2 LEDs� The
top LED will illuminate in red when the built-in bat-
tery is low and should be charged, and the lower LED
indicates the current charging status� If the LED is
flashing, the unit's battery is currently charging; if the
LED is illuminated in green, the battery is full�

6. DC Power Input
Use the DC power input to operate the Sound Ambas-
sador on 24 to 30V of DC Power (at 4�5 amps) from
either an external power supply or external batteries
(for example, two 12V batteries)� This feature is found
on the Sound Ambassador 80A and 125A only)�
7. Power Switch
Turn the Sound Ambassador on or off with this
switch�
8. AC Power Inlet and Fuse Holder
This AC power receptacle is used to power the Sound
Ambassador 80A or 125A and charge the built-in bat-
tery� Ensure the Battery Power & Charging switch is
in the 'ON' position to charge the battery�
The fuse that is held just below this inlet should be
replaced with an identical fuse in the unlikely event
that it blows�
The Sound Ambassador 40A uses a figure 8 connec-
tor that can be used to connect to the included power
supply� This can be used for operating the unit and
charging the built-in battery� Once again, it's impor-
tant to ensure the Battery Power & Charging Switch is
set to the 'ON' position�
