(F) Lapel microphone
Electret lapel microphone with a 3.5 mm screw jack plug. The FMC 8341 headset microphone (EDP No. 8365) can
also be used instead of a lapel microphone.
(G) Windbreak
Place this windbreak over the lapel microphone to minimise unwanted noise.
5. Connecting and setting up components

5.1. Hand-held microphone

1. First open the battery compartment (A4).
2. Insert the 2 AA cells (batteries/battery packs) in the battery compartment as indicated.
3. Close the battery compartment.
4. Now switch on the microphone using the ON/OFF switch (A2).
The power-on lamp (A1) lights briefly and the microphone is ready to operate.
5.2 Lapel microphone
1. First open the battery compartment (A4).
2. Insert the 2 AA cells (batteries/battery packs) in the battery compartment as indicated.
3. Close the battery compartment.
4. Now insert the plug of the lapel microphone (F) into the microphone socket (A5) and screw the plug in a
clockwise direction without exerting force.
5. Now attach the lapel microphone to your clothing. For optimum voice transfer to the microphone, it is best to
select the upper chest area.
6. If the volume/sensitivity of the microphone are insufficient, the default setting can be changed using the
adjustment tool. Insert the adjustment tool into the opening marked „Gain". Turn in a clockwise direction to set
the sensitivity to your requirements.
5.3. Reception unit
1. First connect the 12 Volt AC adapter (C) to the low-voltage socket (B12).
Then connect the AC adapter to the mains (230 Volt / 50 Hz). When the appliance is ready to operate, the power-
on lamp (B7) lights.
2. Then connect the audio lead to the audio output socket (B9) on the receiver.
Connect the other end to the microphone input socket of your hi-fi appliance (amplifier, tape deck, etc.).
3. Check the transmission channel setting. Only if the channels selected on the transmitter and receiver are the
same will the transmission work.
In this case the reception lamp (B8) lights.
4. Now set the volume (B10) of the voice signals to be transmitted according to your requirements. To do so, speak
into the microphone and, using the volume control, adjust the amplification so that no distortion can be heard at
normal modulation level.
5. The microphone set is now operational.
Note:
When not in use, the appliance should always be switched off. When the appliance is left unused for a longer period,
remove the batteries, otherwise there is a risk of the batteries leaking and destroying the microphone.

Solution
> Are the power-on lamp (B8) and the reception lamp (B7) lit?
> Check the power supply of the microphone and the receiver.
> Are the transmission channel settings matched?
> Check whether your hi-fi appliance is switched on and set to microphone input.
> Make sure that the volume control (B10) on the receiver is turned up enough.
> Make sure that the connections have been made correctly.
> In some cases, it may be necessary to alter the position of the receiver horizontally
and/or vertically.
