Reference Electrode Solution, kit code 980314 contains 1 bag of 5 ml KCl.
Precautions
For in vitro diagnostic use only. Exercise the normal precautions required for handling all
laboratory reagents. For diagnostic purposes, the results should always be assessed in
conjunction with the patient's medical history, clinical examination and other findings.
Preparation
1)
Remove the reference electrode from the foil bag.
2)
Rinse the outer surface of the electrode with distilled water and wipe it dry.
3)
Remove the internal electrode from its holder. Remove the O-ring from the inner pin
without damaging pin's surface. Place a new large O-ring on the cap of the internal
electrode, insert the internal electrode into the chamber of the electrode. Install the
internal electrode pin loosely.
4)
Cut the tube of the reference filling solution bag to 5 cm length and attach this tube
to the Flexelene™ tube.
5)
Connect the Flexelene™ tube to the side port of the electrode slice.
6)
Gently squeeze the bag to fill the electrode chamber.
7)
Tighten the electrode cap first by hand, then with the tightening tool
8)
Rinse the electrode briefly under tap water and dry carefully with tissue paper.

Insert some serum based samples into the analyzer after installation of the electrodes prior
to calibration. Perfom the calibration to all the electrodes.
Note: Check that there is no air in the tubing or chamber.
Note: Check regularly that the electrode is filled properly. Remove crystals from the
chamber.
Storage and Stability
Regular use of washing solution e.g. Washing solution, kit code 984030, is essential for
electrode performance.
See the last possible installation date from the electrode package label (install before).
The warranty is valid for 6 months from the installation.
Electrodes have to be stored at 2...8 ° C before installation.
The Reference Electrode Solution in unopened bag is stable at 2...30 °C until the expiration
date printed on the label.
Materials provided
The Reference Electrode and Reference Electrode Solution as described above.
Reference Electrode Solution is available separately.
