ATTENTION: Disconnect the test leads from any circuit under test.
See Maintenance section to install the batteries.
Preparation and caution before measurement
3.4
1. After you switch the meter on, wait for 30 seconds before you make the first
measurement.
2. You must set the desired function with the rotary switch before you bring the
probes into contact with the item to be measured. Remove the probes from the
item to be measured before you change the setting of the rotary switch.
Voltages measurements
3.5
1. Plug the black lead into the COM jack of the meter and the red lead into the
VΩHz
jack.
2. Turn the function switch to the V
3. Apply the probes to the source or load whose voltage is to be measured. The
polarity of the red probe will be shown along with the measurement. If the
measurement is higher than the range of the meter or the range which has been
set manually, an audio signal is triggered and the highest digit of the digital
display flashes, while the three lower digits go to 0.
WARNING:
To avoid electrical shock, hazard or damage to meter, do not a
attempt to measure voltage that micht exceed 600 V DC or AC. Do
not apply more than 600 V DC or AC rms between the common input
terminal and earth ground.
NOTE:
Unstable display may occur especially at 400 mV range, even though
you don't put tester leads into input terminals. In this cas, if an
erroneous reading is suspected, short the VΩHz
"COM" terminal, and make sure the zero display.
