2.3. Switch box
When opening the control unit a qualified electrician should always be
present to ensure safe operations. When adjusting the DIP-switches (see
Section 2.3.6), the cow brush must be disconnected from the mains.
(Unplug the unit).
2.3.1 Overview of the LEDs
LED 1 (red)
Displays when the limit for current to the motor is exceeded.
LED 2 (green)
The counter-magnet was lifted. The motor is released for operation.
LED 3 (green)
The device has performed more than 20 reversals. A further start-up for
the motor is not possible until the proximity switch has been depressed.
LED 4 (yellow)
Overrun period active. The counter contact has been lowered. The setting
for the overrun period is active.
2.3.2 Note concerning direction of rotation
The direction of rotation of the cow brush is not prescribed. For this rea-
son the brushes may run either clockwise or anti-clockwise. The direction
of rotation depends upon the direction of rotation at the time a distur-
bance took place, in the course of which a current overload occurred.
2.3.3 Fuse
A standard T 5.0 A fuse is installed to protect the electronics. (Ø5mm ,
20mm long)
If the fuse is defective, the green lamp in the switch will not illuminate.
Replacing the fuse:
1. Disconnect the cow brush from the mains (Unplug the unit)
2. Open the cover by removing the bayonet connectors (¼ turn)
3. Replace the fuse (see 2.3.5 )
4. Close the cover and refasten the connectors
CAUTION: In the case of other problems with the electronics, a certified
electrician must be consulted!
2.3.4 Electrical protection class
All the electronics are splash-proof (IP 54). The use of high-pressure clea-
ners on the motor and control unit is prohibited.
